Got some precipitation last night and have discovered the back door (rear) leaks!! Had water droplets on the cargo cover. The water is coming through the headliner trim cover. Anyone else have that? Should I add that to the list for the dealer to fix or can I fix it myself easily?

Ok, dealer it is, for that and the talkative steering wheel. Seeing it was you cl, I figured you would say if it was orange it wouldn't be leaking!!:D

I feel really sorry for the members who've had nothing but trouble. Mine has been in two times since February. Once because the idiot who put the bug deflector on put the screws through the hood and again for the the stalling recall even though it never stalled.
So yes BJ it must be the Orange...:chuckle:

BJ mine leaks in the same spot.Noticed it before but thought nothing of it until today when i saw it dripping from the ceiling molding. So i pulled that piece off to see where the water is coming from.Looks like its coming from the rear door hinge mounting area.To the dealer I go.
They replaced the molding around the back door for me on Friday. Won't know until the next time we get rain if it is truly fixed!

Leaker

Well they the dealer found both my leaks. Both where on metal seams. One was on the rear corner panel driver side not positive where for sure. The other seam that leaked was next to the lift gate door hinge.Facing the gate it was the left hinge where it leaked.

I noticed water stains in two places after driving through a torrential downpour for 3 hours.

One stain is under the drivers side roof assist handle and the other is at the top of the pillar behide this same rear door. I tried to take pictures but the stains don't show up.

I'll be taking it to the dealer, but has anybody had a similar leak? Had you found the problem?

Firstly, sorry to drag up an old thread but following a heavy downpour a couple of days ago I too had water dripping into my cargo cover.

It sounds as though this is the same issue as yours Bluejet (?). The car is still under warranty and so I can take it over to them if necessary but wondered if it was anything I could sort myself?

Sounds like it could be an issue with the seal around the rear door,

Any info greatfully recieved

Thanks,
Rich.

Sorry to get off subject here but, I thought the Nitro didn't come with the assist handles in them. Does yours have them Ken?

Hello! Rich.....I have heard on the down side that home attempts of repair have voided any effort by the dealers to accept resonsability.
Due to tampering! Or what ever they thought up.
I know is a pain but if you can get it on warranty don.t mess with it! Make them fix it!
