I just got a 2007 SXT and I noticed that when I am idling at a stop light it seems to shake the car quite a bit. Has anyone else had this problem?
Does this happens all the time, often or rarely?
I wonder that it would be possible for many reasons, fuel quality , spark plugs that are either bad or the gap is not adjusted the same to all ( i read about it on this forum), air filter condition...

Well I have the same prob. I took it to the dealer and they told me to change the plugs, clean the throttle and injector. I did all this and still the same prob. I took it back I told me they didn't know what was causing the rough idle. The computer shows nothing and they don't know what is causing it.

How long has this been going on? Maybe a bad tank of gas? Or maybe the fuel filter needs to be replaced.

I have an 07 SXT and the exact same problem! it idles so rough and it's definitely noticeable especially for passenger front seat. We had it to the dealer for regular maintenance - oil change, tune-up, etc. and they said they couldn't find a problem. I hate sitting at stop light as it idles so rough I'm sure other drivers could notice me shaking! very frustrating, too!

In the old days, a 1/4 turn of the idle set screw would usually fix it... :i_rolleyes:

This is the reason I came to this forum. I have an 08..they have replaced both heads the valves and the fuel injectors and it still does it. Not as bad but its still there.
How 'bout checking the coils & installing new plugs? (easy to do)

Hard to override that stupid ECM (car computer) --which would fix the problem... If I could, I'd set the MF at 1000 rpm, at least, and it would sing thru my MAGNAFLOW at the stop lights... :Racing:

Once in awhile I get a shudder at idle with my 6 speed. If I could adjust the idle to ~900 rpm, I'm sure it would smooth out. The computer has it set too F-ing low (emissions B.S.) and unless everything is running dead nutz perfect, you can get a studder, shudder, gurgle, occasioinally... If it's frequent, get it looked at... :i_rolleyes:

Mark, mine does it from 1200 RPM to 900 RPM as the idle drops while the clutch is in. It has never bothered me much, but now this thread has made me more conscious of it. :shakehead:
When just sitting at idol all is smooth here...

Mine idles at ~550rpm on the tach. Most of the time, smooth as silk. Once/month or so, it "shivers" (minor engine "knocks"). No big deal... yet. It's probably a belch from the E10 gas. I dunno. 550 seems way too low to me... Can't find 100% gas (w/zero ethanol) anywhere to test this theory... :i_rolleyes:

When cold, it idles ~800-1500 rpm (a.k.a. "fast idle") and the ETC/ECM "hunts" (up & down) until it finally gets to the slow idle speed. And, being DBW, all without any input from my toe. A tad annoying to those of us weaned on trusty throttle cables & idle adjustment screws. Where's my Rochester Quadrajet? :shakehead:

Anyone try the SPRINT Booster on a stick shift yet?

ScarO- You must be an "Idol" fan! :Na_Na_Na_Na:
