AM/FM Stereo Radio w/In-Dash 6-Disc DVD/MP3 Player Sound System

Does anyone have this option on their SLT Nitro or ordered on a R/T?

The reason I ask is I thought this $350 option was a 6-Disc CD player NOT a DVD player. My Wife has had two Eddie Bauer Ford Explorers that had factory installed 6-CD radio systems. That is they hold up to six Cd's placed into one slot for playing. I thought this option was the same thing and maybe it is since on a computer a CD or DVD can usually be played.

Buy using Dodge's On-line Ordering it doesn't require ordering the rear seat video system or the MyGIG to take this option. Since it is available on the SLT has any member used it and stored 6 Cd's and played them? If it is only for DVDs where could you view them?

Yes, I have this along with the rear-seat monitor. Just like the Ford unit, it has one slot to load the 6 discs into. The head unit will play both CDs and DVDs from any of the holding bays inside the radio. If you don't have the rear-seat video screen, DVDs will still play, but you'll only hear the audio. The radio itself will only display the chapter and time.

All that's missing is a random button for the CDs...

Thanks, that is what I wanted to hear. At first I thought it was a mis-print and they meant CD not DVD. That Option should state "w/In-Dash 6-Disc CD/MP3 Player" forget about listing DVD unless you order the Rear Seat Video System and then it is required or part of that $1,250 Option

Just checked it out and yes you have to purchase the above Option @ $1,250 plus the radio @ a $350.00 Option AND the 8 Amplified Speakers & Sub-woofer for another $550.00 Totaling $2,150 on the "SLT"

If you get the MyGiG instead it would be $3,500 to have the Rear Video DVD with the required 8 speaker system!

WOW! Sure glad I never had kids and you know they would want it.

Guess the "On-Line" ordering is correct. GEE THAT'S A LOT OF MONEY!

Yeah they sure know how to get ya. This is how they want you to look at it though: it IS only $1250 if you are already getting the SLT G package...

So your telling me that all one would need is the rear monitors to watch dvds if the 6cd changer is in place? Excuse me for a moment...
