ANGERING Nitro situation...

Well im hopeful.....
Seems like the service department is doing their best!
My list for them to look at..
1.Both roof rails lifting
2.Both front door panels warped badly and raised away from the metal door frame.(causes rattling or else i wouldnt care.)
3.Drivers side door sill(black bar on the outside of the door) is peeling away.
and one request
For them to PLEASE PLEASE program the door to unlock when i put the car in park. It seems dumb but you have no idea how annoying it is to have 3 people in the back seat yelling "Let us out! HEY! You forgot us!" every ten minutes when going shopping.

I dropped it off Monday morning and they say they have fixed the roof rails and programed the door locks.
They could not get the door panels to seal so they are having to overnight new ones! So it maybe thursday when i get my car back.:(
Ill keep you posted.
Anyone else had this assortment of problems?
Assembly date: 11/06

Ohhhhhhhh.......shhhhhhhheeeeet! That's my assembly date too!.....

No, I haven't had any of those problems yet. How many miles you got on your's? I bought mine in July '07 new from dealer. Assembled in November and you'd think it would've been sold by some dealer not long after that. ;')

What model is yours?
and you should check your door panels.
the upper edge towards the front of the car where it curves downward, I could put my hand behind the plastic. you shouldnt be able to get your fingernails under it. I wouldnt have noticed though if it stereo didnt make it BUZZ..
I bought mine just in October..

I have one driver's side cargo panel that has a little warp in it around the window. No rattles though.

The panel will be replaced by the dealer, but the parts are on many weeks of backorder. I am surprised that you can get the door panels overnight.

similar problems

Many have had the roof rails lift (there is a TSB for it.) My driver's door outside trim was coming loose, so they ordered a new one, then sent my SLT out to get the piece color matched at the paint shop. Everything is great now. Good luck with yours.

hey Z, we have all had our share of issues, I have only had 1 from your list...the roof rails. good luck!!

hey once when I was younger we all went to the mall and my paw-paw always sat in the back w/ my little boy(child locks activated on my moms suburban only on the one side where my boy sat) and I helped my little one out an we all walked away from the car, I said hey where's paw-paw and my maw-maw said "oh you know he is, he hates the mall, he prob'ly didn't wanna come. so we shopped and got back and he was SSSSOOOO TICKED!! I was like why didn't you wanna come in? he said GD door was @#!*&$% locked and noone let me out. it was not funny then, we thought he was gonna have a heart attack he was so mad, but later and still till now we laugh....God love him!

Today.

UPDATE:
Well im just a little ticked.:3-angry1:
The door panels cannot be overnighted i was told today.
So, they had my car for 3 days and the only thing that was done to it was the reprogramed door locks!!!!!

The roof rails havent been touched which i was told was fixed when i was called to pick it up.
The Door trim wasnt touched which would have taken 5 minutes to tighten down.
And the they had to order the new panels because "Their is NO possible way we can get those to seal with the door, even with 4 grown men pushing on the panel, it wouldnt budge."
The panels MIGHT be here on Friday but more than likely Monday so i had my car sitting up their for 3 days for a 5 minute door lock procedure!
I also now wonder about my door hindge since he told me about the panel.
So i have to take it back on Monday and it will likely spend another 3 days for the roof rails and door trim.

Ordered ours 1 Apr 07, delivered late May 07, right on time. Still three units on the dealer lot that were there 1 Apr 07. Some just aren't moving, even with the steep discounts they are offering now. Dealer has yet to take delivery of any 08's.

Sweet action

Well.
They were raised but it just seemed to be the rubber tabs on the ends lost their adheasive same as the door trim. So they had to put some MAJOR and i mean MAJOR strong double sided adheasive tape and put in between the roof rack and rubber seal and the car roof.
It still has a bit of give but i checked a couple of other Nitros on my way off the lot and they did the same. They just replaced the door trim all together it was warped so badly even the glue adheasive couldnt hold it down, same with the door panels.

I plan on posting a video soon of the Nitros handling, I started a thread in the Nitro reviews section if you want to check it out.
Read it and get caught up!
