I just purchased 40 Series Delta Flow from Flowmaster. Before installing it, should I keep or remove the Resonator and why? Also, is there anything else I should know?

I put a flowmaster 40 series on mine and I removed the resonator. I removed it cause I wanted more flow and more noise. The less you have restricting in any way will produce better flow. Which is more horsepower and better gas mileage. Ever see a race car with a resonator? :Racing:

First off, welcome to the forum. Look forward to your input and keep in mind that we are always here to help. You've just found the best Nitro forum on the 'net, bar none.
I would have to agree with jeffrey 750, in that removing the resonator is a good idea. I've yet to do mine, but plan on doing this year. By removing the resonator, you are keeping the airflow as open as you can, thereby making the motor more efficient, providing more horsepower and better fuel economy, assuming that you don't drive like a madman, now that you have the extra horses. If you use the search button next to the new posts button, and do a search on Flowmaster, you will find lots of additional info regarding your question.
Once again, welcome to the forum, svanoast!

Straight pipes sound mean and good. Running duals from the axle back to SRT style exhaust on another thread and finally got the pics up. Been without a digital camera for awhile. Its so much better without the resonator. Plan on running the duals from the cat back all the way for more noise and rumble. :Racing:

my experience with removign resonators has been you can sometimes end up with that raspy tin can rice rocket sound.

I have a 4.0L R/T and want a 40 series Flowmaster. I have a 40 Flowmaster on my 4.0L Ford Ranger and it sounds awesome.
