If you have a 2 wheel drive Nitro, put the rear drive wheels up on a tow dolly. If you have a 4x4 you will have to put all four tires up on a trailer. Any other method will require removing drive shaft(s), or you risk damaging the transmission.

Get a 2008 Jeep Liberty that has the required transfer case so you can put it in neutral and tow with all four wheels on the pavement.

You should ask a dealer. I've never seen anything about it either way. But the rule of thumb is that any 4wd needs to have the transfer case in neutral to tow with any wheels on the ground. Since the Nitro doesn't have a switchable transfer case, thats why it was suggested you should check out the Liberty.

A Liberty has a real transfer case with nuetral in it. The Nitro doesn't.
the transfer case is the rear differential, right? so, if you put the Nitro in neutral gear, you're saying you still can't tow it behind a motorhome?

NO, the rear differential is not a transfer case like in the 08 Liberty.

I am pretty sure it was in the owner's manual where I read that you cannot pull a Nitro with the drive wheels on the ground AND that you cannot tow a 4x4 Nitro unless all four wheels are on the trailer.

Check with your dealer and see if you can flat tow the manual transmission.

You can't get that in the RT, but you can get it in the SXT.

Not even close. The transfer case is bolted directly to the rear of the transmission & is what distributes the power to the front & rear drive lines & then to the differentials. Most transfer cases have a nuetral. But the Nitro's does not, hence the fact that you have to get all 4 wheels off the ground to tow it. It's in the manual.
