Greetings all -

As some of you may know, I purchased a Light Khaki SLT in December of 2006. Loved it.

Well, Monday, had the dealer take care of some minor things, and spoke with the GM who was my contact in December. He and the saleman I worked had a great time chatting and catching up, and I told them how much I loved the car, and even put in the Pioneer Avic D3 to really make it mine. The GM smiled and said, "Father, what you need is more power!" - and "We have this R/T with the MyGig." He showed me and I laughed, telling him he was an evil beast and to get behind me. Well, he told the salesman to take a look at my previous situation, and see what he could do.

Long story short, for not too much extra, and only $10 more a month, I am in an Inferno Red R/T. I know - I must be nuts - so you have my permission to verbally abuse me!

But, I really love this one as well - and I hope that I am not rationalizing, but I enjoy the extra kick and comfort of the R/T - and I cannot wait to upload music to the MyGig.

Anyhow, just wanted to share my new ride with you!

Peace,
Rich

You're not crazy

Just one of us! You're gonna love the way the R/T rides and handles... and looks. I think the style of the Nitro was made for the 20" wheels. Funny thing, last week I had mine at the dealer for its first oil change and there was a brand new Inferno Red R/T sitting on the USED car lot. It had MyGig, nav system, back up tv, the works. Seems that someone had won it from Menards and didn't want it. It had 9 miles on it. If I hadn't just leased mine, it would have been tempting. Heard it sold for $27,500. Ouch!

I did the same thing you did. I traded in my black SLT for a Infernal Red R/T fully loaded.

You are not nuts! You have done well, in my opinion. Enjoy the additional power! You got the right color, also!

Update

.....well, I had the R/T for a day and a half and I had people come up to me and comment on it no less than three times. Now, I loved my SLT, but it is crazy what the Inferno Red and 20" rims can do to people.

I am still getting used to the ride, but am hoping to really get some experience next week on short trips with the folks.

A friend commented on the name of the color, considering my profession - ah yes, I am a paradox!

Thanks for all your positive comments - it is good to be part of this community.
