I noticed that my Nitro 3.7L has a Denso (Japanese) alternator.

I am wondering if this engine is a variation of one of the Mitsubishi engines?

I have been away from Mopars since '95 so I am not familiar with the history of these newer engines. I am an old guy that knows 360's 440's. 383's 413's and 426's all this new stuff is Greek to me.

The last Mopar I had was a Dodge Dynasty with a POS Mistubishi V6 and a bad automatic tranny to match. I pray that my 3.7L is not related to that V6.:thk:

The 3.7-liter engine is produced at Chrysler's Mack Avenue engine plant in Detroit, Michigan, next to the 4.7-liter engine plant. No MMC in this engine. It's basically a 4.7L with 2 pistons chopped off.

Dodge has been using the Denso for a while. My '88 Dakota still has the original Denso alternator in it with 280K miles on it.
