Is there any way that this wheel would fit a Nitro?

This is the Fuel Contra
20x10
5x114.3
-18 Offset

A salesperson at a local wheel and tire shop said that this would fit my Nitro. I told the guy that I didn't think a 10 inch wide wheel would work that well, if at all, because I have 1.25" spacers on the stock 20" chrome wheels, which are 8.5" wide, and they already rub a little bit. He said he would make it work by downsizing the tires. I don't really know if the offset would work either. While I understand what offset is, I'm having trouble picturing how a -18 would fit on the car.

There is another version of the wheel that I think might work better, but this sales guy really seemed to want to sell me the 20x10. The other version is:

20x9
5x114.3
1 Offset

Would a 1mm offset work, and not stick out too much? I would be removing the 1.25" spacers.

He also wants to sell me a package that includes cheap LandSpider tires, for only $200 more than just the rims. If I get the 9" wide rim, I was planning on putting on my current Cooper tires, and probably selling my old rims, with the LandSpiders on them.

PUnch in your current and proposed setup here, taking into acct your spacers:

Don't buy new tires if you're not going to use them.

That's a nice tool, but I don't know the values for the "Specify Your Parameters" section, which shows how the wheel fits in the wheel well.

You don't think I could make the $200 back selling my old rims, with 4 brand new tires installed? Or just selling the 4 brand new tires themselves for more than $200. The online reviews seem kind of decent for the LandSpider Citytraxx tires. The only way to get the 4 tires for $200, is by buying a wheel and tire package.

And if I get the 10" wide rims, then I would likely have to get the $200 tires, as my current 245 tires wouldn't really fit..... even though the sales guy said they would. I guess they technically would fit, but would look stupid stretched.

Yeah, but I don't really know how to account for the 1.25" spacers that I'm currently using. Do I just say my rim is 1.25" wider? And increase the offset also by the width of the spacer? and I'm not not sure how to fill out the "specify your parameters" section. Do I just go and physically measure what I have now?

I also thought that I had read that my stock rims were 8.5" wide, but I think they're only 7.5".

I think I'm just going to go with one of two Fuel wheels that I can get at Discount Tire, that are claimed to fit the Nitro. They are both only 9" wide, and have offsets closer to the stock wheel. I can just use my current Cooper tires that have plenty of tread left. I'm leaning towards the Warrior right now.

pretty sure you can sell your 20" wheels (as long as they are in ok condition)
if you search this forum for 20x10 wheels there is a huge amount of info, don't buy them untill you are sure they are what you want,
i would be looking to buy a set of wheels with the correct offset so i could ditch the spacers,
i prefer the first wheels you picked fuel contra, i think that style fits the nitro better, JMO

If I got the Contra's, I would probably only want the 9" wide version. Getting the 10" wide version would necessitate getting tires, and I'm not sure I'm that keen on riding on super low profile LandSpiders. However, I don't know if this local wheel shop could even get me the 9" wide version. These guys are kinda shifty, and they just keep saying that everything fits. They do seem to have decent prices though. I'm not sure why this guy is pushing the 20x10's. Maybe it's something they had left over in stock? They always seem to want you to buy something right now. Plus, if I got the 10" wide wheels, with the cheap tire package they offer, then I would probably end up with really low profile tires, that would offer very little protection when crashing over the many potholes we have here.
Are they adapters or are they spacers?
Spacers (with adequately long studs) are perfectly safe--in fact they are allowed by the NHRA.
Adapters, however, are not safe and are not allowed by the NHRA.

low profiles on a Nitro that ain't a comfy ride,
i was once looking for Nitro stuff on ebay and a set of Dodge Charger or Challenger wheels popped up cheap, a little like the style of your first choice, can't remember the sizes but they where 20x?, do the Charger or Challenger wheels fit a Nitro ?

Are you asking me about my spacers? I got 4 hub centric, billet aluminum, 1.25" spacers. They were great with my winter 16" snow tires/wheels, but they rub a tiny bit with the 20" stock chrome wheels on. I'm not sure they would work with even wider rims.

Well, I finally made a decision. I ended up going to Discount Tire, and I got the Fuel 'Warrior' rims. I had them price match to Belle Tire, who had the rims cheaper, and also had a $40 off coupon. The rims are 20"x9", and I used my current 245/50 tires. I had them take my spacers off, and the wheels still rub a little bit, just like my stock 20's, with the spacers.

Now that you can see through the rims more than my stock rims, I think I need to do something with all the rusty parts behind the wheels. I'm thinking about either getting all new coated rotors, or trying to paint the rotor hats with high temp paint. Then for the calipers, I'm thinking about either painting them silver, or gold, or getting MGP caliper covers. I like the idea of just getting caliper covers, but I'm not sure about getting red or yellow ones. They seem like they'd stick out a lot, and would make it seem like I'm trying to say that I have high performance brakes. And the black ones would just basically disappear. I know MGP lets you make fully custom ones now, but the ones I configured, in a muted color, ended up pricing at over $400. You can get red, yellow, or black, with 'DODGE' or 'MOPAR' on them for like $236.

f##k they look awsome
i painted my calipers red about 5 years ago (now need painting again ), and was a bit worried they might look out of place, but don't worry the coloured calipers really suit the Nitro, plus they don't stay shinny red for long,

That's kind of why I was thinking about the MGP covers. You just fasten them on, and you're done. I did cut out a piece of red and yellow paper, shaped like the caliper covers, and taped them to the caliper. Both colors did look good, but I'm just thinking that it might be a little too much.

And that's why I'm just considering painting them silver, or even gold. But then there's going to be a lot of prep work. I'd probably have to use a rust converter, or do a lot of wire brushing/wheeling. And then primer, paint, and clear coat. And even then, it will probably only last a few years.

Or if it's time for new ones just get the powerstop kit with brand new, nicely painted calipers.
i removed my calipers to paint them (which is a PITA), i used brake caliper paint which was a great colour and lasted about 5 years, so maybe the covers are a good option as long as they are a good fit,
i thought those covers where like $50 ? can you post some pics of the covers fitted ?

I looked at that. My braking system seems to be working quite well right now, except for a slight squeal. I already bought some new Raybestos Element3 pads to try and stop the squeal. That was after going through and greasing everything, and one of the chatter clips had broke and got stuck between the rear pad and rotor. I thought that was the squealing noise, but there is still a slight one, after fixing the chatter clip.

My calipers seem to be working fine though.
