You also might include choices for Not Yet, Not Sure, Don't Intend To.just a thought here: maybe you should break the poll down and have results for both the 3.7 and 4.0 engines and maybe even throw in the manual and automatic for the 3.7There are a few threads on these Jet chips. Lots of technical jargon and such. Lets get down to the nuts and bolts, so to speak!
that way its specific for each engine and trans and not a generic study with everything thrown into one group

I think the poll as it is good enough.Pretty good idea. Now, if I could only figure out how to change the poll......
Well, I was looking for some direct feedback from those who have done the mod to help those of us who haven't..![]()
Okay. I'll try to remember this post when I get my Jet Chip and install it.I think the poll as it is good enough.
Most people post comments anyway.
There is no way to prove the footprints are from the Jet Chip.you will all so have to think about chips leaving foot prints on computer
So, is it a problem to leave the chip in place when taking the rig in for service? What if they do a flash to the computer? Will the presence of the chip affect that? Will the flash damage the chip? There is no way to prove the footprints are from the Jet Chip.
Also you the memory for this kind of info is volatile, all you need to do is disconnect the battery to dump the memory.
I'm not worried, I've had a Jet Chip on my 454 Surburban for 11 years, 130K miles and there have been no problems.
This is a fairly benign Mod.

Yes keep us updated! and we want pictures! My stage 1 Jet chip arrived today. After the first installation the transmission was stuck in either second or third gear. It would not change up or down. I removed it and re-installed and then all was fine. Maybe it was not quite all the way home in the housing.
The difference isn't huge, but then again a 10 ~ 14 hp increase pushing a truck with the weight of the Nitro won't be. You can't really tell until you put your foot down then it is noticeable. The shift points are definitely better. Acceleration is better and on the expressway you can really tell when accelerating to overtake.
I haven't really had much time to try it out properly but over the next few days and weeks I'll be taking notes.
No pics yet Dave, but I can do you a nice video clip of me driving down the road stuck in 2nd gear with some rather colorful language and hand signals.....Yes keep us updated! and we want pictures!![]()
Still laughing on that one! :chuckle:No pics yet Dave, but I can do you a nice video clip of me driving down the road stuck in 2nd gear with some rather colorful language and hand signals.....![]()
Yeah, the learning process seemed to take a couple of days. Highway performance seems to be the biggest gain, kicking down to pass is pretty nice even.Well it's been a couple of days now and it seems to have settled down now. I'm not sure if the computer needs to adjust to the new settings but it seems peppier now than when I first installed.
The 50 ~ 80 acceleration is much improved and it seems to cruise at a lot less RPM's than before.
Next tank full I'll do a MPG comparison.
