Jet performance modules?

Looking for feedback on the jet stage 1 and stage 2 modules. Both are 'advertising' the same potential HP gains. Stage 2 recommends a 180 thermostat which I am really hesitant to do. I have modified my exhaust, added a CAI. Will the jet 1 do the job? Both are about the same amount of money. I am trying to balance HP with mpg. If I decrease the operating temperature I believe it will cause a decrease in mpg and hp in normal driving. The stock engine is designed to run hotter to be more efficient and to build hp. If decreasing temperature decreases the factory generated hp then the stage 2 module is a wash. If the stage 1 can generate the same gains without loosing stock hp it sounds to be more reasonable. Help? Anyone have experience?
Does running higher oct. fuel offset the jet 2?
If I run 93 oct with the jet 1 will it make a difference?

I personally use a Hypertech Power Programmer on my Nitro 3.7. Pulling out and driving up hills I have noticed a seat of the pants difference. Was a worthwhile modification IMO.

It's funny how on almost every other vehicle I've read about, the jet chip gets horrible reviews. Yet on the Nitro everyone has positive things to say about it. I wonder if that mostly due to our lack of options.

It really is a shame that Dodge canceled the Nitro before the aftermarket really took off on it. Shame no tuners really ever cracked the PCM. I would love if a real tuner could play around a bit with my RT.

It would have also opened up an easier path to supercharging and turbocharging. Oh well, it's likely a lot better for my wallet!
