well, i'm not necessarily a 'newbie', 'cuz i've already introduced myself a while back. But just wanted to say i finally got it!
Black SXT 6speed. With the body color moldings, towing package, and 17" wheels.
The thing drives AWESOME! i guess they did a tiny, tiny upgrade on the interior from the 2007 6speed i test drove. The interior is all black on the manual tranny model. But when i picked up my truck yesterday, the stick felt a bit shorter, and had a nice soft leather cover for it. And also had a nice NEW chrome accent around the bottom of the stick shift. before it was all just black. Not really a change at all, but a nice little touch of chrome to break up all the black.
Anyway, the pick up from first is really fast. Its a high gear so you gotta change to second pretty quickly, but its awesome. The truck feels pretty light too at starts.
The leg room is tight on a stick shift because of the clutch, but whatever. I'll manage. (not the safest thing to do, but you can slide your leg under the clutch if you're just cruisin in 6th gear. Plenty of room for that.)
The only thing that really sucks, is the sound resonance or "hooting" when you have both the back windows open and your going fast. its really deafening. Never heard anything that loud before. But pretty much every square shaped SUV has that, so nothing you can do about except for playing with different window opening configurations.
thats my quick update/review. its a great truck. Fun to drive. and i'm 6'4 and fit fine in it! (can't have a sunroof tho, but don't need one)
