Well, I guess I was due for some trouble. I just wish it was my wife yelling about the toilet seat being up or something that was a little cheaper. I just gave the local dealer $650 to replace the TIPM, do an oil change, and do the recall on the wiper relays (the relays were no charge). I was driving down the road, minding my own business and it got really quiet. Turns out the engine had died. I shifted into neutral and tried to re-start, but no go. Called the wrecker service, towed it to the dealer, and they said the TIPM was bad. Mine has never even stalled or had the tell-tale wiper problem. From what I can gather in the forum, I'm not alone with TIPM issues. Everyone be sure to got the the transportation safety website and file a complaint so I can get my money back when the recall is issued :) https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/

Thank you for your help

Ouch! $650 is a lot of cash.
There is also a fuel tank burp thread/ NHTSA complaint campaign we have been working on. If you have the fuel "burp" at the end of filling up, be sure to check out that thread as well.

TIPM is Totally Integrated Power Module. It is also the fuse box, but has a computer module built into it. That is why the cost is so high.

TIPM is where the wiper relays are located. Kinda makes you wonder if the wiper relay recall, the windows not rolling down, the alarm problems, the stalling, the doors not opening, and etc... aren't related to the faulty TIPM, not necessarily the items that are showing problems.

My 07 is still working just fine. No issues at all. But there are members who have gone threw 3 or more. Almost all of them were covered under warranty.

The wiper recall was not directly related to the TIPM but could cause issues within it. It had to do with a wiring connector outside of the TIPM, it is along the drivers side fender well.

We just had the TIPM replaced. This was due to problems with the a/c not working 100%. When we took it to the Dodge dealer, they could not trace the problem. I took it to a local shop who specialized in diagnostics and traced it back to the TIPM. It was not supplying enough voltage to start the a/c. Even though the scanner said that the a/c was on, it was not kicking on. I'm now wondering if I can get my money back thru Dodge? Thoughts?
