That's huge HP gain, if it's real. I just clunked a drop-in into the existing box, and saw a 1 to 2 MPG gain, with unknown HP gains. I have read on a few separate posts how the factory box SUCKS, but I'd be curious to see what this new part would do for MPG increases. Any thoughts?

It's about time!

It's about time K&N get this thing released. After speaking with the folks at K&N, their 63 Series, part # 63-1554 is going to make the most hp. The 77 Series with the polished intake tube they said is mostly for looks. Looking at the dyno numbers for each on the K&N website, there is less than 1 hp difference between the two. Me personally, I like the look of the black tube like the one Nitroinsocal has. Anybody know if HHP is going to carry it? Decisions decisions, do I get the intake next or the headers. I'm leaning more toward the headers.

I've had pretty good luck with CAIs on a Dodge Neon & a Toyota 4Runner. 13% increase doesn't sound that unbelievable to me. Of course it is in pretty ideal conditions on a dyno so real life (dirt & dust, weather conditions, elevation, etc.) will probably not give quite as good a results.

Sorry --- still a skeptic -- just b/c it's on paper doesn't make it so.

An independent dyno test from an impartial source would sway me though.

I've been searching the internet and making phone calls and can't find the K&N kit anywhere accept for directly from K&N. They want $321.75 for the 63 Series intake. I think I'll wait for a bit to see if HHP or Summit will start carrying it. If and when they do it should be cheaper than the manufacturer.
