I would think so but the easiest way to find out is remove the battery and try it. I would try it for you but wifey has stolen my wheels...We don't have the 'remote start' feature, the key only unlocks the doors.
My question is, if the battery in the key is dead, will the key still be able to start the Nitro?
You let her drive your squashie???????:SHOCKED:I would think so but the easiest way to find out is remove the battery and try it. I would try it for you but wifey has stolen my wheels...![]()

The battery in the key is only for the remote feature.
The key has a RFID in it that the computer looks for to allow the ignition to be engaged.
The RFID is not powered so there is not fear of the key not working because of a dead battery.
