Do you have a model number? Hard to look anything up without that! Look on the magnet of the speaker for it.I replaced the door speakers w/ the Kicker & they dont have the power rating on them or on any paper for that matter. Anyone know what the ratings are for these speakers? Thanks
So they will handle 75 watts each.I got the spec's:
Front
(2) 1" titanium dome tweeters
(2) 6.5"-long throw poly cone midbass/midrange (one left and one right)
75 watts RMS, 150 watts peak power handling
Frequency response 35 Hz to 21 kHz
Crossover for tweeter 4,500 Hz @ 12 dB per octave with DC protection
Sensitivity 88 dB (1W/1M)
Rear:
(2) Throw poly cone two-way speakers with 1 Inch titanium dome tweeters
75 watts RMS
150 watts peak power handling
Frequency response 35 Hz to 21 kH
Crossover for tweeter 4500 Hz @ 12 dB per octave with DC protection
Sensitivity 88 dB
Thanks
Ignore anything thats says peak or max power and stick with the RMS rating.75 is RMS & the 150 is peak.
I got rid of that factory garbage, the only thing supposedly Infinity was the sub, in a PLASTIC box:shakehead: Have a custom job in mine now, huge difference! The front sounding different than the rears are by design. In any system short of one thrown together quick just to produce sound, you aim for a front image that is brighter and crisper than the rear.
Most systems will not have a totally balanced sound. The fronts are always setup to be the primary listening area so it gets the most attention. That is why there are separate tweeters up front but only single driver speakers in the rear.
If you have the Infinity sound system w/ subwoofer, you will have to either bypass the amplifier system and use an aftermarket amp or you will have to buy a processor to put inline with the factory amp if you wish to balance it out.
Thanks! Been so busy with all the other things today I haven't had much time to search.Star,
The only thing Infinity in that system is the sub, the stock speakers have stickers on them that say "Mopar"....which are now sitting in the landfill!! Crutchfield sells all kinds of removal tools...just type that in their search engine and it pulls up a page of tools!
Being yours is an R/T did your Nitro have the 8 speaker system w/sub? If so, what did you do with the rear door tweeter? I'm caught between replacing with the Kickers (as an oem replacement) or aftermarket with some Alpine's in the doors and testing it with both the tweeters connected and disconnected from the dash and rear doors. Alpine's are half of the Kicker cost right now while on sale. They sound alot better that the stock. Only problem I have is the fronts sound better that the rears. I did the fade front to rear & there is a sound difference. I'll probably install an amp to correct & add more power.
Have Orion in the doors and a JL Audio sub. Thanks! Been so busy with all the other things today I haven't had much time to search.
Update: What speakers did you use in the doors and dash? I looked at Crutchfield and the separate speakers for the doors since I have the 8 speaker w/sub. The Kickers would be an easy swap, but not sure if I would like the sound vs another brand which would actually be cheaper.
After pulling mine apart, my speakers are all Infinity (see attachment). Strange they didn't make this a quality sounding system. The Infinity system in my Ram was great, these in the Nitro are terrible.Star,
