I'm itching to install some blue LED light strips under the dash in the next few days if it's warm enough. I'm going to replace the lights underneath with the LED's, using the wiring from those lights as my power source. I have two questions though. First, do I need to disconnect the battery? If I do, which cable do I disconnect, the negative one? Thanks in advance.

I thought it was the positive cable you would disconnect. That is the one with the juice! When I worked on my LED installation, I didn't disconnect the power, I was adding my own circuit that I connected to the post on the battery when completed. If you are going to mess with the existing lights under the dash, you probably should disconnect the power.

There is another thread where a member has done this:

I don't see any reference to the battery, so you might want to post there and ask him. good luck, let us know how it turns out!
