These pic's were taken Saturday morning at several locations on the UF campus to show different glare reflections on the Legal (I don't like being hasseled by "The Man" over BS legal issues) LLumar Tint. :croc:

It looks nice. I had got my Front 3 done. Windshield strip (5%)to block the morning Sun. And the front 2 at (17%). They are almost the same as the factory windows. Just a hair lighter. and the cost was $105.But it doe's really help. The A/C doesn't need to work as hard now.

What's the percentage, what kind of tint (was it metallic or carbon), and what was the cost?

Looks good BTW:SHOCKED:
It's not the metalic type, I think 15% and was $70 + I got a free wash and vacume. Had it done at Classic car wash in Gainesville.

I want to tint the driver and passenger windows only. Looks good.
That's all I did, the front drivers side and passenger side. the rest is factory.

I'm still thinking about the windshield strip but the windshield is rather short I don't want to be bent over to look out. LOL

The Dodge dealer tints almost every vehicle they sell here. Definitely the way to go if you can get away with it.

Lumar's hydro was suckin this weekend in TriCities. Too bad, they've usually done really well. Maybe next weekend in Seattle.

Window Tint in California

Ahh the beauty of living where tint on the driver and passenger windows is legal...not so in California.
HOW DARK CAN WINDOW TINT BE IN CALIFORNIA?
Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In California, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window. • WindshieldNon-reflective tint is allowed on the top 4 inches of the windshield. • Front Side WindowsMust allow more than 70% of light in. • Back Side WindowsAny darkness can be used. • Rear WindowAny darkness can be used.

From the C.V.C.:
(a), clear, colorless, and transparent material may be installed, affixed, or applied to the front side windows, located to the immediate left and right of the front seat if the following conditions are met: (1) The material has a minimum visible light transmittance of 88 percent.
(2) The window glazing with the material applied meets all requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 205 (49 C.F.R. 571.205), including the specified minimum light transmittance of 70 percent and the abrasion resistance of AS-14 glazing, as specified in that federal standard.

So basically you can have some sort of tinting but has to be clear, colorless, and transparent. Meaning no colored tint, like smoke, or other colors I've seen on the road.

Depends on where in CA you live!

The figures above might be the State regulations, but some cities and counties have enacted their own requirements which are more strict and in fact prohibit any tint at all on the driver and front passenger side windows.

It is not for the safety of the driver or occupants, but the protection of the officers who need to see inside the vehicle when they approach after stopping you. It is a real pain when you travel from one city or county that allows the State regulations to another that has zero tolerance like I do every few days, so I can't have any tint even though I live in the area that allows tinting.

:4-jump2:

Someone please correct me if I have it wrong.
San Bernardino County allows State regulations for tinting
Riverside City and/or County does not allow any tinting of front side windows

nope, I am only 5'3 and my seat is at the lowest point and slightly reclined....so it is not in my way, but it looks so cool, that even if it was in my way, I would just cope until I got accustomed to it.
