My wife is always complaining that I never lock the Nitro.
Do you lock yours always, 50% of the time or never?

Also keep in mind, that if you leave the keys in a vehicle and it is stolen, you can be held liable for damage or deaths caused by the person who stole it. I know it sounds crazy, but these days the lawyers look for anyone to whom they can assign negligence. As for locking.....I live in an extremely small town and used to not always lock mine if I was in a convenience store or some other quickie errand where the car stays in view. Being this far north and also dubbed the "coldest spot in the nation" it's not uncommon to go to the supermarket or mall and see half a dozen vehicles all running out in the parking lot.
Recently, one of my deputy brothers had their patrol vehicle stolen from right out of their driveway. Heck, if people are so bold as to steal a police car, I figured mine was way less safe...so yes, I do lock it at all times now.
I only wish that the key fob with the auto-lock wasn't on the key so I could leave it running AND lock it if needed like I do my work chevy tahoe.
I lock my Nitro always. While I live in a small city with little crime, and the ownership of my Nitro is well known to most people here, it simply makes good sense to be cautious. It is highly unlikely that anyone could steal the vehicle, but stealing what is inside would be another matter altogether. I keep valuable items in the cargo area--away from curious eyes--but still find it comforting knowing the Nitro is locked.Do you lock yours always, 50% of the time or never?
