Hey all, this is a great section and I thought I would post up a list of the bodywork faults that my new Nitro came with - just to see if any of you had similiar experiences?

The list is from the indedendent engineers inspection that we had conducted on our Nitro. The dealer (Philip Wilks in Durham, UK) has said that he'll repair the Nitro but I want a replacement vehicle instead. The dealer is really not interested in after sales care and does not answer any calls. If you're in the Uk then stay away from these guys! Just as a footnote but even the Nitro in the Philip Wilks showroom has a 12-inch gouge out of the rear bumper - great dealer eh!

Surely, you don't buy a new vehicle for it to warrant an immediate full respray:i_rolleyes: - Am I mad or does a replacement vehicle seem fair to you guys?

Best wishes to all,

Andrew

Here is the list:

1. Offside and nearside A pillars – scratched – repair and paint
2. Nearside inner B post – scratched – repair and paint
3. Nearside ¼ panel – scratched – repair and paint
4. Bonnet scratched on leading edge repair and paint
5. Bonnet scratched repair and paint
6. Front bumper – gouged- renew and paint to body colour
7. Rear bumper – scratched and paint blemishes and poor previous repair– repair and repaint
8. Offside front door – scratched – repair and repaint
9. Offside rear door – scratched – repair and repaint
10. Nearside rear door – scratched – repair and repaint
11. Nearside rear seal – malformed – renew
12. Grille – gouged and dented – renew
13. Nearside front door – orange peel evident – repaint
14. Nearside front wing – scratched around the repeater lamp – repair and paint
15. Offside roof mould – loose – remove and refit
16. Nearside inner sill panel – scratched and dented – repair and repaint
17. Tailgate – scratched – repair and repaint
18. Offside front wing – scratched – repair and repaint
19. Nearside front wing – scratched – repair and repaint
20. Offside ¼ panel – scratched – repair and repaint
21. All wing mouldings – scratched – repair and repaint
22. Nearside front door – scratched – repair and repaint

Hi Andrew
Blimey thats one long list of faults! on mine I went over it with in great detail and only found a couple of little surface scratches, which I managed to 'T' cut out. I would certainly push for a replacement, we do have consumer rights remember!
Black is the worst colour for finding inperfections, thats why I chose Red.

Stick to your guns & keep us posted.

Thanks Trev - your comments are much appreciated. It looks as if we will need to start legal action so I have a solicitor all ligned up for the job.

The dealer lost our initial delivery order so the Dodge came 4-weeks later than first expected (it was due on the 1st Feb and it came on the 1st March). I still don't have any vehicle ownership paperwork or official dealer/service paperwork so Philip Wilks is nothing short than appaling:i_rolleyes:

That's quite the list there Andrew. Your dealer sounds like he's not going to be in business much longer if he provides service like that. I can see a small scratch or two and them having to fix it, but 22 items? Good luck with your legal proceedings.

I got the new aquanitro.....lol
Good thing ... I pulled up driving directions from the US to Heathrow on Google Maps once (for real!!!), but they aren't available any more. Somebody in Upper Management must have taken exception to it.

Surely, you don't buy a new vehicle for it to warrant an immediate full respray:i_rolleyes: - Am I mad or does a replacement vehicle seem fair to you guys?
Wow ... I think a replacement vehicle is the LEAST they could do for you. When you buy a brand new vehicle, you don't expect a Scratch and Dent special ... unless it was actually advertised that way!

Good luck!

Sorry for long string of issues. I would like to know if you did an inspection prior to taking delivery? If so, did the dealer make note of those issues? Here in Tampa the dealer always does a walk around with the new owner and helps in the inspection. I am sure there must be things I'm not aware of but I can say that car would never have left the lot. Good luck mate.

The trouble over here in the UK, the majority of dealers have very small showrooms, so when you actually pick up your car, it's parked in the open and especially this time of year it's raining, or this does happen occasionally someone has justed washed the car for you and hadn't had time to dry it off!!

And we all know a wet car looks perfect, it's when it dries off you see the problems,

As I said in one of my previous posts, I just got thrown the keys for mine and told its out there somewhere!! (and yes it was pouring down at the time):i_rolleyes:

Sorry to hear about your problems. My first Nitro was delivered with a dent and a scratch in it. Plus it was the wrong option package plus when I picked it up they had me in the show room for over 4 hours. I did not even see the scratch because they parked it on the sidewalk and the dented side was facing the wall. I was so upset that it was the wrong option package I yelled and screamed and I even at one point cleared out the dealership. Everyone who was looking to buy that day did not because of me. I took the Nitro to show my friend and my girlfriend. My friend pointed out the dent and the scratch and from my cell I called and started yelling yet again. I get to the dealership and say is this the way you treat all your customers. I said that I have had it and and at this point want to drive this thing through you F**** window and take all you worthless people out with it.

The dealership did fix the problem, but by then I got another Nitro from them with extras on it that I did not order.

So my 2 cents worth is just start yelling and maybe they will do the right thing but dont stand for that kind of incompetance.

Good luck

Andy
