So in the picture there is a loose wire that hangs down in the rear. Anyone know IF this is supposed be connected to anywhere? I have not notice any problems after a week.

It's your rear differential breather. It has to be somewhere higher.

Is this something I can just reconnect myself or have to get done professionally? I am in no way mechanically inclined other than being able to change the tires.

OR does it just hang out, un-connected like that?

Should be a clip on the body that you can just clip it back into unless the clip has broken
