Okay, I purchased my truck brand new with 200 miles on it off the lot Febuary27th. Already, the passenger seat has begin squeeking like an old car when someone sits in it. It is even louder than my uncles 89 suburban seats. How can i shut this sound up.
Also, whenever I lock or unlock the doors, the rear passenger side locks will lock and unlock 3 or 4 times in a row, very quickly (it almost will sound like machineguns lol) and very very loudly. Ive had my door speakers replaced, could this have something to do with it? And would these problems be able to be fixed by the service dptmnt (ive nver had a warranty, Im used to trying to fix everything myself). Please help!

Some one else on the forum fixed the door rattle by lineing it with Dynamat, the stuff they coat speaker boxes with and had positive results, I think. Try searching the forum for "door rattle" or something along those lines. As far as the dealership fixing it, NOT likely, I took mine in many times for multiple rattles, and they didnt do anything to try to fix it other than tightening the fasteners, which didnt work. So chances are your gonna need a home grown repair again. Good Luck

ITS NOT YOUR SPEAKERS!!!

I had HORRIBLE rattles.... i mean, if my radio was above 9 it rattled and buzzed and bumped and everything in between.

It is your door panels, the plastic itself. My panels were warped so they didnt seal correctly, i am not sure about the locks but it may be obstructing them from locking so they repeatedly pull down to make sure they locked.

To check this,
1. Open the problem doors
2. On the side closest to the hinge, see if you can get your fingers under the plastic, between the plastic and the metal.
3. Check the BOTTOM of the door,
4. If you can get even a fingernail under the plastic they are warped and the plastic is rattling against the metal.

It took me 2 months to realize they were warped, during that time (like you) i tried to fix it with window seal, the rubber/foam stuff.(left nasty black crap) It helped a little, then finally i told them, after a few head scratches and comparing to other Nitros they found the plastic was warped.

SO if you can get you nails underneath it, its bad, I honestly cant get paper underneath it.

AND BY THE WAY.....

Your stereo no longer has a warranty because you replaced the standard speakers.... Sorry

I put in a subwoofer, didnt even touch the radio just tapped into the wire and POOF.... their goes the warranty on my stereo.

nah its not the door that rattles, its the door lock. it only does it when i lock or unlock the door (but it does it every time). rather than just lock once, itll lock and unlock like 3-4 times very quick and loud. the door seems to be sealed tight from the test you said to try, but i dunno. (by the speaker comment, i ment maybe my dude had messed with the lock when he had the panels appart.) also, ive replaced all of my system so i know i have no warranty on that (well from the shop that installed them). I have a panasonic touch screen dvd player, pioneer premeir door speakers on a alpine amp, and 2 15'' q-power subs on a 2000 watt amp. As for the seat, i think im gonna have to try and find my own s!olution like yall said. maybe tightening the bolts or something.

Appreciate the responses so far!

BTW Zmass, what part of texas you living in?

The door lock issue you are having sounds like a short, or malfunction of the control module. Your dealer should fix it under warranty. You could pull the door panel off and check the connections, both sides. If they are good, I would take it to the dealer.

The seat noise could be a loose or broken Spring on the under side.
I had a plastic weight distributing piece come loose and had to tuck it back under the springs.
Take a look, but remember to be careful of the Passenger weight sensors and connectors under there, for the air bag.

Unless I'm mistaken, the TSB for this calls for the dealer to insert pieces of cardboard behind the panels. I'm thinking the best solution would be to insulate with the Dynamat like one member here did. If I get the rattles, I'm going straight to doing that fix.

The lock actuator must be faulty for it to engage multiple times. Time for a trip to the dealer.

Make a list of the things that bug you and have them look.

Tell them the doors buzz "sometimes" when you are listening to the stereo and they will tape down the wires and cushion the panels with "flock" tape. Not as affective as Dynomat but it works.
The seat issue has also been noted on a couple of the Nitro boards. Bring it up to the dealer as well. Most of the ones that I have heard of were related to a broken plastic panel around the seat.

zmass, You should never tap wires to add a sub. There are so many companies (pac for one) that make the adapters that WILL NOT void the warranty that it just isn't worth saving a few bucks.

I have the same problems with my driver side door lock . brought to dealer and they found nothing . of course it wouldn't act up while there. but when metioning the warpped panels it almost makes sense , it seems that my locks would only act up when it was cold out and sat for a little while i thought the palstic could be stiffening up and causing the warpped panels to rub on the ddor lock sticking out.. i say this because when i had problems with my (plastic) roof rails they would be worse in the cold they would stiffen up and really lift off the vehicle alot... does this make any sense??
