Hi guys,

Ive had my 08 Nitro SLT now for about a month and apart from a big rock chip ive got in the windscreen I love it :)

The only thing im slightly disappointed in is the power of the high beams. they really don't seem that great. Has anyone else experienced this ? Can I go to a more powerful bulb ?

All in all im very happy with my new toy.

Thanks

Welcome dazed, bummer about the stone chip. I bought Sylvania Silverstar replacement headlamps (H13 ST/2) the day I got my Nitro. A lot of people don't like them either but I do. Driving at night is no problem. They give a nice white light (4000*K) Sylvania also makes a "cool blue" (3500* K) that I did not care for. I got mine at Advance Auto and was told if I didn't like them I could bring them back, I couldn't beat that offer. Enjoy the forum.

Welcome to the forum,

I found the High beams on par with most other cars, but the Low beams are very narrow and directed. I find that this is no problem if I use the fog lights with the low beam.

I am waiting for aftermarket 130W higbeams like I have in my Chevy. The Silver star are bighter but still legal. I am waiting for outlaw headlights.

One think that I considered doing is putting in a relayt that will let me run both the high and low beam elements at once. This is an easy modification that makes for a broader brighter coverage.
