Looks great WB!

But my blondeness makes me ask...
Why lower a 4x4? Would that make it just about impossible to take it off road?
Hey, that's not a "blonde" question ... I've often wondered the same thing ... and still do!

Still looks sweet!

I thought everyone knew...You need 4 wheel drive in a lowered vehicle incase you get hung up on a speed bump, duh :i_rolleyes:

Well concidering 99% of my driving is on road and only 1% is off road, and with 50 series low profile 20 inch street tires, no skidplates, and the absence of low range with our 4WD i really never purchased or expected the Nitro to be an off road vehicle (if i wanted an off road vehicle i would have purchased an H3

I would rather have a vehicle that handles great, can corner excellent and i feel confident in its handling
With the combination of the lowered stance with the Eibach's and superior handling with the Bilsteins i now have a vehicle that handles and drives way better then stock and is alot more fun to drive.

I am sure you are now asking why i got 4WD well i live in michigan and we get snow and crappy weather here and having owned 2WD, 4WD and AWD vehicles i wanted the security of 4WD (would have rather had an AWD system)
I feel as what i have now is the best of both worlds 4WD for the traction and upgraded suspension for superior handling

warriorbob, which Eibachs and Bilsteins? I've wanted to lower mine for a while now, but they aren't making any lowering springs for the 4wd.
Here is what i have researched:

The front and rear suspensions on the 2WD and 4WD are identical, The shocks (struts) are the same and so are the rear springs and front springs (that go on the struts) the ride height of both 2WD and 4WD are identical

Not sure if their is a difference between the R/T and other models but the Bilsteins and Eibachs are definately an upgrade to even the R/T shocks and springs so to me the point is mute

Now i am not saying to use the 2WD kit for the 4WD Nitros as that is not what the kit is listed for, and i dont want to take any responsibility for telling anyone to use the incorrect kit, but their is only one kit made by Eibach for the Nitro and that is what i used

All Nitro shocks are identical 2WD and 4WD and they are listed that way so they are interchangeable

The Handling is like night and day, its amazing how much better she handles its like going from a sloppy wallowing mushmobile to a tight feeling crisp handling performance vehicle
