Installed the Magnaflow cat back yesterday with my 12 year old--father and son time. :D

I like it so far -- easy install --- slicker than cat**** on a linoleum floor!!!-- hardest part was taking out the old system w/o a lift. Used a wood block and floor jack under the hitch to lift the truck off it's suspension and give a little more wiggle room to get it out.

Thought about changing just the muffler but this way way no cutting -- no fuss no muss no bother and a nice integrated tip too!!

Sounds great -- little more acceleration -- really seems to complement the JBA headers I put on last week.

Big thanx to HHP http://www.highhorseperformance.com/ for a great price and for shipping them speedy fast and affordably!!!

i just installed my magnaflow cat back over the weekend, very simple install, took all of maybe an hour.
love the sound, have not driven it much so cant say how the milage improvement is yet, also cant wait to tow the car trailer now with the cat back and see how it improves performance.
i like the magnaflow since it is all stainless steel (muffler pipes and tip) i wanted the same material system as came factory
got it from summit racing and they had an excellent price on it ($319.95) including shipping

I put my magnaflow exhaust on this weekend. Quick and easy but I have a question. Does everyone elses new exhaust smell goofy and does the tip get hot quick? The smell I am attributing to everything being new and being burned in but the tip getting so hot makes me wonder, and I am worried about melting the bumper cover above it?

mine did smell for maybe the first week but it has pretty much gone away now, i think it may be the lubricant they use on the pipes to allow the bends to be made easier.

yes i also noticed the tip does get hot, have not had any problem with the bumper cover and its been a few weeks now, but i keep checking on it

Is this install something an amateur can do, or is it recommended only for trained mechanics?

I'm no mechanic! I can do these easier mods, but I don't know about cutting the exhaust off!

wait a minute...thetank said to use a hacksaw! You don't don't unbolt something with a hacksaw! Maybe somebody can do a HOW-TO with lots of pics to show non-mechanics such as myself how it's done?

I unbolted my side of beef first, i mean my nitro's exhaust. Then I unbolted my rear passenger shock lower mount then started to unbolt the rear sway bar on pass side and then said screw it and cut the exhaust right past the rear axle tube. Thats my choice i didnt feel like hem hawing around trying to fit pull the end throught he little maze it has to come through to pull it all out in one piece. now that it is out i can tig weld it back together and it will be none the worse for wear. the new exhaust is 2 pieces , they split it just about right where i cut it. hmmm maybe the engineers who came up with the magnaflow exhaust think a little like me.... naw thats crazy, anyways get out your non mechanic socket set and start pullin stuff apart and get ya a new exhaust system on!!

You don't need to cut anything?!?!

I just used a floor jack and a block on the hitch body to unweight the suspension and give a little more room to wiggle out the OEM system. Took 5 minutes
