Hello all....In Decemeber I purchased my soon to be wife a brand new 2010 Black Nitro SXT as a surprise for Xmas, as this is the car that she wanted and had to have. I like the truck so far and so does she....but I must tell you about what happened to her truck. I got in it one day and could smell something as if she had left food in there somewhere and forgot about it. Looked everywhere and found nothing. A week later I smelled the same damn thing and proceeded to investigate further....Turns out there was standing water on the drivers side floor from the front all the way thru the back seat. She could not feel it as I put thick rubber mats over the stock mats for protection....There was practically a pool of water on the floor in the front as well as in the back. I was mad as hell. I then took the truck to the dealer where I bought it at and it turns out there was a seal that was bad under the cowl by the windshield wipers and every bit of rain that was coming down the windshield was coming right into her damn truck. I looked online and saw that this was an issue that others had had with their Nitros as well. They had the truck for 17 days at the dealer...waiting on parts, wrong parts, etc...you name it. Finally they replaced the seal and all the padding under the carpets, but I was still upset that this could have even happened to a truck that had 4300 miles on it. So far no other issues, and she loves her truck but just wanted to share this with you guys. Any questions or anything Id be glad to answer you just let me know!!! Thanks and have a good weekend. :wavey:

Man, that's a PITA! Glad you finally got it fixed. There have been several reports of leaks. It seems like it's either that windshield seal or a sunroof. The following thread sounds the most like yours.

There is a great search engine on this site. If you type "water leak" into the search box, you can read about most of the others. Your post is just more good info for other members, so thanks. It's good to hear that your wife still loves her Nitro! :rep:

Bad News again!!!

I posted the original thread on the water leak.....Well I get in the truck on Saturday after the windows were up and it was quite hot out and the truck smells still like musty, stagnant water.....SO MAD!!! Now I have an appointment next Monday at the dealer where I bought this truck out for them to rectify the issue......AGAIN!! Im starting to have my doubts that they are ever going to be able to get the damn smell out of this thing. Starting to get very frustrated, as I said before this truck is a 2010 with 5K miles on it now...She loves it , I love it and the way it looks but this water problem is starting to turn into a big debacle.....:Racing:

most likely causes:
sunroof drain holes blocked ( be careful trying to unblock them you don't want to unseat the rubber drain tube )
roof rail mounting studs corroded
or windshield seal is leaking (not heard of this issue for a long time)

Thanks Nitrogen
I have no sunroof
I do know my top black rail is not sticking down flush with roof tho

tried to glue it down few years ago as it was flapping around

I will look up there tomorrow in the daytime
Let you know if I find anything

like my car is taking huge amounts of water
And it’s just happened
Never before has it leaked
