I recently decided to buy two new tires, after a puncture left one tire un-repairable. I decided to trash the bad tire, and keep the fairly new one, and have a new pair rather than 3 six month old tires and one brand new... to make rotation and tire purchasing easier in the future...
..My question is, can I create my own full size spare from the compact spare rim, and my old tire? I have the 17"x7" cast aluminum wheels, with the p235/65R17 Goodyear Wrangler HP's, and the steel compact spare. Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated... -J

...thats what I'm not sure of. Its definitely a 17" rim, I'm just not sure if the width is the same or needs to be....

The stock Goodyears are pretty narrow. So as long as the spare is at least 6" wide, I don't think it'll be a problem. Definitely worth a look at a tire shop.

keep an eye on e bay

The Nitro is fairly new but you never know I picked up a full size spare for the 99 jeep I had and it was cheep with the factory wheel too
