ok, when I first saw this vehicle I was like "no not another dorky scion box car" but It has kinda grown on me, considering what you get for the price.

the one thing that attracted me to this vehicle is the fact that it offers a manual trans (what suv has that?), but it appears that it's only available on the base model.... the bare bones nitro - is it possible to order the r/t with a manual? I absolutely refuse to drive an auto, I hate them, they are sluggish pieces of....

nope,
They are not offering a manual with the 4.0 engine.
The transmission offered with the 4.0 is a 5 speed automatic....
I don't think you will find the automatics in these units as sluggish...

with a 0-60 time of almost 10 seconds, any edge you can get is worth it... in my experience, I have yet to find an auto that isn't both sluggish and a horsepower sponge.
Well, unless you get into some mods on the r/t model, the debate over the transmission choice is moot. It is only configured with the auto.

I've seen a review on the R/T Nitro model running a 0-60 in 7.7 seconds which is much better than the 10 second est.

My 01 Dak R/T 5.9L Regular cab only ran mid 7's, that's of course before I modded it. Best [email protected] no force induction. 98 MY > 01+ MY

Then replaced with a 04 SRT/4 which I sold months ago because I couldnt get any traction in 1st or 2nd gear, but still got [email protected]+ mph 1/4 on my second run. 13's maybe with more run's, but I got the point it was a lost cause with front wheel drive cars.
