sup everyone. startin this thread to show my monitor install for my nitro. i got the slt about 3 weeks ago and have been jonesin for a screen. it has the dvd radio in it but no screens.....time to fix that.

got this in off ebay for $100. not to bad quality

i am not sure how i will have the screen setup. i have a couple ideas runnin through the noggin, stationary, flip up or down, and biggest job of all motorized. i have the mechanical skill and knowledge to build it but electronically i am dumber than dirt. i think tomorrow i am goin to make some prototypes at work and see what i can come up with. whatever i decide i know i am going to fiberglass it nice and paint it the center silver of the interior so it matchs and looks sweet.

Nice!

I have the MyGig system and would like to do the same, only using my AUX input for the sound and running the screen to a separate DVD unit somewhere.

Can't wait to see what you come up with so i can follow. Hopefully someone with the electrical knowledge can explain how to achieve this. Good Luck.

ok made myself an aluminum tray for the screen so i dont need to use the plastic one that came with it due to it makes it easier to mold it the way i want and not having to grind down the plastic piece. i have decided to just keep the screen stationary. i am goin to make another upper tray out of sheetmetal so i do not need to cut or modify the plastic one from the truck. i have the wiring diagram that i got off of the first sticky thread on this section. hopefully i can work on it more tomorrow but work has gotten a little busy. if anything i want it atleast mounted and wired by this weekend. i can fiberglass whenever.

got the bulk of the install done today. it was really just hashing out ideas to mount and power and everything. most likely it will be installed and hooked up tomorrow. it wont be glassed until like this weekend hopefully. i threw in a pic of the sheet metal fab i do everyday.
