I just had a Magnaflow put on, but I did not remove the resinator. Not sure of what type of tip I want. But when the tech had it up on the lift I saw that the OEM muffler had a Heat Shield on the side. He said that it is not needed but I kept it. I reinstalled it this morning. I was thinking of the Warranty, Dodge put it there so they must have a reason for it. What do you think about the Heat Shield.

Keep the heat shield.

In the instructions from Flowmaster they recommend a sheild especially if towing. High performance mufflers get hotter than stock as the heat that would have been under the hood, blows through the muffler.

Go with double wall SS. They will cost you twice as much as single wall but they will look better and last longer.

Don't bother with cheap chrome plated.

remember, the tips are the only part that shows---- get nice ones.
