I used to have a Motorola e815 cell phone. Worked flawlessly, connected automatically, ect. Now I have a Verizon XV6800 pda phone (Same as the Sprint Mogul). I doesn't automatically connect and it randomly works. Anyone else having issues?

Hey Delecron, welcome to the forum. The problem is that the myGig will need to be constantly upgraded as more and more cell phones are introduced. Don't forget that cell phones these days are like computers, give them 6 months and they are outdated. That's the problem with technology these days. Anyway, if you get a chance head over to the newbie section and say hi to everyone

I had the same problem and I found the solution, hopefully this will work for you too.

My Blackberry used to work perfectly, Bluetooth would always stay "on" and "discoverable" on the phone, so there were no problems having MyGIG connect to it. However, once I bought an HTC TyTN (with Windows Mobile v5) Bluetooth would randomly disconnect, or at least turn "discoverable" off. After much Googling and trial and error, I found that upgrading the TyTN to Windows Mobile v6 cured it.

If that is not an option for you, try installing a little program called "Bandswitch". It lets you enable or diable Bluetooth, and this program will make sure it stays that way until you change it.

Hope this helps!! Let us know how it goes.

Delecron, I have two new bluetooth compatible cell phones - one a Sanyo (Sprint) that I use for work, and the other an LG VX8350 for Verizon that I use as my personal cell phone. Neither work with the U-connect on my just-delivered Nitro. Both phones pair-up, but will drop connection as soon as I try to dial. I called U-Connect tech support and I was told they were aware of the LG (and other new phones) not working and that they are certainly working on a software upgrade to resolve this. Hopefully it will be released in January. Both of my phones are fairly new models, so I'm not sure if the software upgrade will solve your problem as well. You might call their toll-free number and give them your phone make and model number and see if they are aware of the problem. Good Luck! I'm looking forward to being hands-free!

Thanks for all the replies, Unfortunately the device is already running WM6. I am having all the problems you were describing w/ WM5. Is it that the device has to be in discoverable mode to connect everytime?

Its a strange thing they way once it connects and you make a phone call if you make another call from the handset 1 minute later it doesn't work.

I actually used to be a tech for VZW, I did bluetooth installs but never had to deal with pda's before. I'll try that MYGIG upgrade going around and let you all know.

BTW, have there been any dedicated MYGIG hacking sites up yet? I thought by now someone would have made one.
