i have the same phone. had a verizon chocolate that connected fine but it broke so i switched to the V3m. i paired the V3m and it says it was connected but it wont recieve or make calls. i go to make a call and the mygig display will show it trying to dial and right away it stops and flips back to the music screen. tried it several times and then turned off the bluetooth on phone and called the wife. she said her phone would ring once and stop. she would try to cal me back and the call would not go through. mind you my phone never once rang all the times she called me. thing that makes me mad is the V3m is on the mygig bluetooth compatiblity list. i specifically went shopping for a phone that i knew was on that list. so here i am with the great handsfree feature that i paid for and i have to drive around holding a phone.

That's what I was afraid of. I too noticed it was on the chart but others on the Jeep and other forums were having the same problems. Just so turns out I just got a v3m and may send it back if it won't pair. Thanks for your reply!! Now I know it's on the Nitro problem list also.

What SW version is on your V3m? On the phone with Verizon and it must be 24.1_01.19.07.

UPDATE: Just spoke with Chrysler Uconnect Support. They stated an upgraded flash for the MyGig is due out 3/8/08 that should correct this problem. However the tech did not know the upgrade number (flash version). From what I have found via Google search the MyGig must be at least 9.703. Verizon gave me the Motorola tech number (1-800-657-8909, Razr's only) to see if they have had reports of problems and a possible fix or patch.

Hope this may help others with the same problem. Verizon also suggested to switch to the LG8700 phone which is supported and reportedly works with Uconnect. Since I still have the 14 day trial period, I will see what I can find out.

NitroTech can you verify?

Need to know if a flash update is available (as mentioned in my post above), otherwise I will have to switch phones. Find it odd that it won't pair with one of the most widely used phones and that it is listed on the Chysler Uconnect site as approved. Thanks! Surprised others have not stated this problem.

This is from avengerforumz.com (http://avengerforumz.com/showpost.php?p=23688&postcount=83):

I've been in touch with Harman Becker and they provided me with the following information:

Within the next week, updates will be sent out via mail directly to customers. In order to receive this update, you will need to email [email protected] - please provide your concerns/requests within the email. Basically they are only giving the updates to people who have real issues with the system (those that don't have concerns about anything will not receive an update)

Once contacted back, you will need to provide your mailing address and Y/M/M of your avenger - you will then be added to the mailling list.

So far I only received an update on the NAV system, I am waiting for the REN system (w/o NAV) - but these are the new features on the NAV software:

SW version 9.713
  • Graphics accelerator on Navigation Map (faster 3 D map view)
  • Bluetooth driver update (Helps UConnect issues with CDMA phones i.e. Motorola v3)
  • Faster POI lookup
  • Wrangler Microphone enable (need to buy a microphone separate)
  • Import compressed music and play back songs from same album in Track Order
  • Addition of Traffic Speed and Flow (Overlaid on Nav Map – Green = free flow, Yellow = Slow, Red Stopped) usually only available on interstate in select cities
  • Samsung HDD firmware update to prevent Master Cylinder Corruption (only if needed)
  • Several bug fixes (Missing SAT presets)
  • Improved SW application update process
  • Improved Nav Map Data Base update process

Received this reply to my email:

Hello Richard, The next firmware update should address your U-connect connectivity concerns. Since you provided all the necessary contact info below, I will ensure you receive the last software updates as they are available.

I also have an appointment Friday to activate my uconnect and will check for the update.

Again, so glad the forum is here!! I've had an issue with mymymygig (grin*)since about three months after I got it. When checking for POI's, the list pops up and shows, say, 5 "pages" but I have no scroll up or down buttons. I didn't update during the last round but suppose I should address this. I was really hoping that maybe this most current update might resolve my problem.

HEY!! one can dream!! :i_rolleyes:

I emailed for info ..sigh*

To all with the Verizon (and possibly other phones). Check to see what software version you have installed on the MyGIG. There are two ways to do this, via the Menu button or by pressing SCAN UP, SCAN DOWN and MENU one at a time and continue holding them (this brings you into the Engineer Mode). Use the page down on the screen and find "Software Updates". Mine was originally 7.200 on the REN and I upgraded 9.004 the other day and now it WORKS with the V3m! Just had the dealer activate the Mopar kit in my Nitro today. I did the U-connect setup, did the pairing, added my numbers into the phonebook and started making calls.

To get 9.004, Go here DodgeForum (link now included). Scroll down just a little and you will see the RER and REN versions. Download the 233 meg ISO file or the 175 meg zip file. Burn the Becker directory and the two files onto a cd at slow speed and be sure to close out the disc with the volume label of NTG4_9.004. Install into your REN and follow the prompts. It will reboot twice so don't panic. When it comes back to the "Upgrade to 9.004 from 9.004 screen" you are done. Eject the cd. For those with REQ, I'm not sure how or if you need to upgrade??

Hope this helps!!

great information! thanks for the write up! another thing for those who have not done this before, make sure the burned disk is closed session and the file structure is EXACTLY as described or it will not work.
