I still don't have mine, I ordered my R/T in Nov. 06 and there was a mix up at the dealer so now I have to wait untill the dealers get theres so I can get mine.
Funny thing is I have already paid for the unit and install.

So far nothing.
damn that is messed up. i am thinking of getting it but kind of like the system i have now. the premium 8 speaker Infinity. Do you think the My Gig will change that? it seems like a real cool feature. Auto mags say that you would expect to find that in more expensive cars. As a matter of fact a lot of features we have are found primarily in more expensive cars. we got a lot of car for the buck guys!
I was really going to wait for it then I did some research and found that their were better aftermarket alternatives for less money than the cost of the option... Any of the DVD based nav systems you have to continually switch out the DVDs to track new routes which can get annoying... plus if you don't have the ability to bypass the safety feature you will have to pull over and pull the ebrake to retrack your route. Although I can completely understand the safety feature of no DVD while driving locking out the nav is dumb in my opinion. But its a CYA and for safety. Their are a couple of units out there that give you far more bang for your buck.

What is the MyGiG option up to in price now?

i guess everything is personal preference to what is the best system (factory or aftermarket)

the MyGiG loads all the map info into the hard drive so you never even have to load a CD to get a route. also the system automatically replanns your route if you miss a turn or go the wrong way. and ofcorse you can add stops to the trip (like gas stops and such using POI)
and dont for get the real time traffic and sirius radio.
what i love is the ability of the voice commands and the steering wheel controls to work the radio, hard drive, jukebox, CD's and nav
plus i am one that loves the factory look of the unit

the prices of the MyGiG have not gone up from what i know (but i could be wrong)
each and every unit has its good and bad points and its all what the person likes.......its just like wheels and tires everyone has their likes and dislikes, but that doesnt mean one person is right and one is wrong. as long as you (or me) are happy with what you have thats all that counts :D

I bought my SunBurst Orange Nitro SLT in January with the MyGig to be installed when available, I have talked to the Parts Dept at my dealer and they are waiting for the parts to be available. I have it all paid for and I am still waiting Also. Doesn't waiting for a great new toy suck?
if i get the mygig option is it going to affect my stereo quality?
if i get the mygig option is it going to affect my stereo quality?
not at all

acutally the 8 speaker/amp option has to be selected with the MyGiG

the whole thing radio/Uconnect/hard drive/sirius/navagation ROCKS!!!
I also think the mygig is pretty good.....The navigation screen looks better than my rb1 in my liberty, plus the touch screen and voice activation make it a lot quicker to use (the rb1 doesn't have either). I love the look of the unit, and it sounds just as good as any other stock stereo on the market. Now if my wife would only let me drive the darn thing.....:shakehead:
I am interested in getting the Mygig option but my Nitro originally came with the 6 cd disc and 6 speakers. I don't have the infinity speakers.

Does that matter??
I have talked about many of the great featues except the NAV system. It is awesome! I had a tom tom in the trailblazer I traded in and the nav system in MYgig whoops the crap out of it.

1. it is voice active which is phenominal
2. it is automatically updated with construction, detours, traffic through sirius (at least I think that is where i updates from)
3. it has a more comprehensive 3D view that is pretty sweet.
4. you can still navigate through your music options easily using the stering wheel controls while still in Map Mode.

I'm sure the more routes I take on it, the more I will prefer it over my old Tom Tom....btw, anyone looking to buy a nav system cheap?? :p My tom tom is just sitting on my office desk without a purpose anymore!
2. it is automatically updated with construction, detours, traffic through sirius (at least I think that is where i updates from)
Actually, I think that comes thru the FM frequency. It only works in major cities. And it's a pay service. As I recall you have a year thru Dodge.
Actually, Sirius updates it. They now have Sirius Traffic, very similar to XM NavTraffic. They use NavTeq technology...Continuous updates about road conditions, accidents, slow (non-Nitro) vehicles, etc.

XM had this feature exclusively in the past, and I didn't see Sirius have it until just before the Nitros.

For more, check out www.sirius.com/traffic.

"SIRIUS Traffic combines mapping with superior route guidance using real-time traffic data, powered by NavTeq."

AJ, you are right, it is a pay service:

Choose your subscription plan:
Traffic Only: $9.95 monthly
Bundled (Radio & Traffic): $16.95 monthly

I assume it comes with the initial first year beacuse it had all of the road work going on in milwaukee right on the maps.
Correct....this is part of the free satellite for the first year.
Ok so just today i bought my inferno red nitro SLT with sirius sat radio and all that good stuff, love my new nitro. BUT, i really want mygig, does anyone know how much it is?

oknitro . . . MyGIG is not available as a dealer install. None of us know when it will be available as a parts item. If Chrysler does, they aren't telling. There are other options that have been discussed on this forum. Use search on the menu bar and key in 'navigation'.
:Racing: Does anyone know if MyGig is available as a dealer option yet, and if so has anyone heard price?
I was at a delaer in Phoenix today and over herd a convertation between the sales manager and another person about there being a large class action suit agenst DC for the MyGig. They were saying there is a class action lawsuit started by people who bought the dealer installed option and have not received there MyGig units.

That is what I am waiting for, but I had no idea of this.

Just asking if anoyone else has come accross this.
Ive had my SLT for about 4 weeks now and I was one of the lucky few who got one of the first 24 Nitros built with the MyGIG.

I am a gadget guy and can tell you that I think this unit is outstanding.

I have been able modfy settings and use the system for everything as advertised and it works flawlessly. I haven't had to refer to the manual once for instructions.

The integrated mic and blue-tooth support for hands free calling works very, very well.

The HD holds only a few CDs so far but copying them is dead simple.

The navigation system works as well or better than anything Ive seen before.

The rear DVD system is slick and the headphone are good quality.

I'd give it 4 out of 5 stars with only the lack of a removable head/faceplate keeping it from getting 5 stars.
