My Negative Battery Cable is getting so hot that it has caused melt damage on the battery and cable wire. It also prevents the car from starting unless I pull the cables upwards, then the car will crank. I have 2 negative cables running into that terminal, only one seems to be damaged "Melt damage". Anyone have any Ideas on what could be causing this? The terminal connections are tight and no corrosion can be found.

if everything was clean and tight at the battery, the next place i would look is under the battery (on the chassis leg) there is a grounding point which can get badly corroded, i had to drill and install a complete new ground stud mine was so bad,
