Hi.I have my black NITRO R/T Automatic with 2,8 diesel from December 2007.I have had Mazda Tribute before and drived some other SUVs,so I think I am able to compare the SUVs and I can say, maybe NITRO is not the best solution for snow and mad,but in spite of it,I like it and I feel myself very save then I am driving it.Michael

welcome to the forum Michael! I'd be interested in your review of the Nitro compared to other SUVs. I haven't driven another SUV before, but I like how it handles in the Canadian winter compared to the cars I've driven before.

Comparison

welcome to the forum Michael! I'd be interested in your review of the Nitro compared to other SUVs. I haven't driven another SUV before, but I like how it handles in the Canadian winter compared to the cars I've driven before.
At first, sorry for my English,I do not use it too often.
1.I had problem in higher layer of snow with very low front bumper,I think that when the snow wiil not be like powder but frozen the bumper can be destroyed.
2.Similary as many other SUVs it is impossible/I do not know the right technical expression/ to lock wheels/then one wheel has problem the second stops too/,but some SUVs has the possibility.
3.The weight of NITRO is higher then the weight of others SUVs and it is dangerous in soft not frozen enough snow./Tribute was 1900 kg and NITRO is 2600 kg/.

But do not worry, the difference is not so "wild".NITRO is not real OFF ROAD/like for example Mitsubishi Pajero/,but in comparison with other SUVs it is OK.
