Hello everyone,

I bought an 07 Bright Silver SXT Nitro in April. I've put approx. 9000km on it and so far it has been reliable. I wouldn't say that I'm thoroughly impressed with the vehicle, but it get my wife and I to work safely, and I get alot of compliments on it's unique style. If I had to do it again, I'd still buy it since this specific price-range is full of smaller, less powerful SUV's and cross-overs that don't appeal. A couple of annoyances that I have come across so far:

1) I used Armour-All interior wipes to clean the dash/console ...etc, and right above the line that is just above the glove box now has bubbles underneath the vinyl coating.

2) it's a pig on gas during long trips.

3) After driving for at least 30 minutes, I notice that the engine looses that "snappiness" that it had when I first took off. Almost like it has become less-responsive at normal operating temperatures.

4) The rear-view mirror is poorly positioned for tall drivers. It completely cuts out my view on right hand turns.

That's it really, and not to sound like a hater because there are alot of things that I love and like about the Nitro, these points are really just minor knit-picks.

Anyway, sorry for the long first post, but that's how I roll.

Thanks,

RM:wavey:

Well hello RM.
No we don't think your nit picking. Many of our members have minor annoyances with the Nitro, but the good always outdoes the bad.
I too was a disappointed with the gas usage, but what the heck, if I don't spend my money the wife will so I might as well enjoy myself doing so.
I hope to read more from you soon. There's lots to see and do here so poke around and enjoy.

Problems

1) I used Armour-All interior wipes to clean the dash/console ...etc, and right above the line that is just above the glove box now has bubbles underneath the vinyl coating.
I have not experienced this.

2) it's a pig on gas during long trips.
I have not been on a long trip, but on short trips (60 miles), I am getting 22.1 MPG. I consider this good, considering the size, weight, and performance of the vehicle.

3) After driving for at least 30 minutes, I notice that the engine looses that "snappiness" that it had when I first took off.
I have never experienced this.

4) The rear-view mirror is poorly positioned for tall drivers. It completely cuts out my view on right hand turns.
I am 6'5" and have no problem whatever with the placement of the rear-view mirror.

Sorry to hear

Sorry you have those minor problems with your Nitro.

I hope you wont let those get in the way of you enjoying your new ride. My Nitro just go 19 to the gallon around town so I am sure your gas mileage will go up just like everyone else has commented on.

Enjoy the new ride. Feel free to check out the forum lots of great information out here.

Oh and by the way people who own Nitro's are the coolest people out there in the world.
