Hello everyone. I started posting before introducing myself. My name is Chris. I bought my 07 Nitro R/T in the Spring of 2007.

I live in Syracuse NY. I fell in love with the Nitro the first time I saw it. I have been into riding sportbikes for about 13 years and have been doing track schools and trackdays for the past 5 years. I am currently in Summit Point, WV doing a trackday tomorrow. Here is a pic with the bike in tow. This is the smaller 1 bike trailer I use when I go solo. Still got 20mpg with it in tow and traveling through the hills of southern NY and all the way through PA. The enclosed Haulmark I use when traveling with friends kills the MPG to 15MPG. I installed a brake box for the electric brakes on the trailer this past weekend.

I will be heading to Calabogie,ONT Canada this coming Monday for another trackday and to southern NJ in another 2 weeks for another trackday at NJ Motorsports Park in Millville just SE of Philadelphia.

Current bikes in the stable: 2005 Honda RC51, 2007 Honda CBR600RR and 2008 Honda CBR1000RR. I switched to all Hondas this year after having nothing but Yamahas in the past.

Tracks that I have done schools or trackdays: USA- Laguna Seca, Watkins Glenn, Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, Summit Point, NJMSP couple of weeks. Canada- Shannonville, Mosport, Calabogie.

I'll be sure to browse around here more for some mod ideas. I'd love to see someone put out a supercharger for it.

The only quirk about the Nitro I do not like is the transmission does not kick down sooner than it should. You really have to mash the pedal when you are at speed. Otherwise, it moves pretty good off the line.

Here are some photos from my latest trackday at Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course a couple weeks ago. It was the same day to AMA pros were practicing before race weekend.

See around the forums.

Chris

Welcome Chris! (I was in Syracuse today , I have seen more Nitros there than over in the Utica area where I am) Thanks for the pictures and enjoy the forum! :wavey:
Small world DK. I lived in New Hartford for a few years when I was younger. I still have family out there in Clinton and New Hartford and few friends I ride with. My buddy owns Breakfast at Tiffany's on Rt5.

Here is the enclosed trailer I tow with my R/T.

Btw, that was a great "how to" you wrote on the brake box install. Nice pics of your Nitro and bikes too.

Enjoy your ride.

Welcome Chris. Nice bike shots. My buddy back in England does the track stuff similar to you but he rides Kawasaki. We used to hang out at Donnington Park for the W.S.B. I got trackside one year to take pix. I've even had my pic taken with Rob Muzzy...:)

Keep the mods coming....

I haven't been to PHX in a couple of months. How is the heat? I know Firebird Raceway isn't too far from you guys.

Hey, Chris.....

Welcome aboard!

Hey, what engine/tranny combo do you have? If it's the 3.7L with the 4-speed auto, you'll find a lot of discussions on that one. If that's what you have, you'd do well to set aside a day when you can have the shop put the tranny into QuickLearn mode, then Drive It Like You Stole It for the next day or so (I'm guessing the next 100 miles) and see if that doesn't improve the shifting a little.

Hunt around here for those discussions!

Let us know, okay?
