Greeting everyone - I purchased a '07 Nitro SLT 4X2 and had a very scary stalling situation happen. Traveling on the interstate with cruise control set on 74 mph and all of the sudden everything shut down. Just about threw me and my sister through the front windshield. Within 10-15 seconds car started on it's own and we proceed the rest of the way home. What in the world is going on with my Nitro. Any advise would be appreciated.

Nitro Just Shut Down

It happened to me, too. I am so disappointed, not to mention scared...I mean really scared, it will happen again. Around 60 mph, in the dark, my Nitro just completely shut down. It started again all by itself. I took it to the shop, and they said they could not find anything wrong, and then the dealer told ME to get in touch with the Chrysler "people," which I have already done. Seems the dealer who so eagerly took my down payment and set up payments for the balance, a few weeks ago, would have stepped up to the plate. What else can I do?

Hi, I had the same thing happen on a Houston freeway early Saturday morning. Just stopped and then started again! I paid my first visit to the dealership today and they were able to tell (through some sort of diagnostics) that the problem had indeed occurred, but could not determine why it happened. I live in a fairly small city, 100,00+, and this was the first time the Dodge service center staff had heard of it. I logged in to this forum on their computer, and showed the service rep several of the complaints about this very thing. She is going to contact their technical support hotline and get more information.
