My nitro that I have had since Jan finally had it stall on me in traffic. It is a frightening experience. I have not went to the dealer yet for the recall, will soon, the transmission problem is also a big big pain in the you know where.
I think dodge should have done more testing before this vehicle was sold on the market, leaves alot to be desired.:Racing::Racing::Racing:
Dodge have had the recall out now for a number of weeks and you should really get it in ASAP. Ok there is a problem with stalling and Dodge have acknowledged that, but if you ignore the recall and it stalls then you cannot put the blame back on Dodge.
The North American automakers are going through their toughest time in their history trying to fight off the imports. Vehicles are rushed into production when an auto market niche is found. The Nitro fits into that mid-size SUV market. We see many new import mid-size SUV's coming out. In order to beat the competition, sometimes vehicles are released early to get ahead of the pack. Unfortunately they would rather recall a sold vehicle than not to sell one at all.
This applies to many automakers not just dodge. Ford went through the same recall scenario with the Escape, which if I'm not mistaken stands at 27. see below,

It will take time for Dodge to iron out all the bugs, but one thing is for sure...If you love your Nitro now, just wait till it's perfected...
