Face it, outside of some wicked looks, the Nitro is an adequate at best vehicle.
I have driven the best of the best and the worst pos that you would or could ever drive. The Nitro is not among either class. It is OK for what it is. But a great interior? No Way. Great craftsmanship? No Way. It rides OK for an SUV although I have even driven Fords in this class that out ride it. (I hate Ford)
It has good looks, decent manners on the road. It will get you where you are going carrying what you need. And I will grant you that it has a lot of potential. But this isn't a Scion. It is not targeted at the consumer that wants a plain piece of paper to draw on and express themselves. It is targeted at people that want to drive.
So, Why is it that they have so many problems with the Transmissions, the roof rails, the stereo systems, the fit and finish, hell even the engines are problematic.
Don't get me wrong, I like my Nitro. I don't love it. I like it. There is a realism here that escapes a lot of people. Yes, you spent a lot of money on a new car. Yes, you should take care of it and be happy with it. But, lets be honest, is this the best car that you could imagine yourself driving?
Maybe it is. If so, congratulations. But don't be surprised when you find write ups like these. Not everyone has already purchased the car or are willing to buy one even though it is not everything they want.
Just my opinion,
I now return you to your previously scheduled Nitro love fest..................
