Nitro DIED AGAIN!!!

Hi!

I posted the following in December:

Hello All,

I bought a 2007 Nitro SLT in October. I loved it until the first time it left me stranded... I was in MD (I live in PA) - I went into a store and came out 5 minutes later. It wouldn't start.... NOTHING!!! I called road side assistance and the tow truck got there about 4.5 hours later to get me home. I had the Nitro towed to a dealer near me. They had to replace the "Receiver Control Module" Has anyone else had this problem??? I feel very nervous that it is going to happen and leave me stranded again! I only had 1,100 miles on it when this happened!

It happened again today!!! Luckly, I was at home when it died - I had to borrow a neighbors car to go to work!!

Has anyone had this problem???

Oh yea it has happened to me ....but i had the recall fixed and hasnt happened since.

What recall?? Did yours start again or did you have to have it towed?? Mine had to be towed both times.

I was driving on the freeway once and i passed a big truck and the nitro shut down and started a couple seconds later it just slowed down and all the lights on the dash came on it was crazy...another time i was at a stop light and it shut off i had to put it in park and restart it...But yes there was a recall and i think u can go to dodge.com and put ur vin number in to see if u have a recall. there are a few threads about this....Sry ur having such trouble.Hang in there ...I Love my Nitro...

Yesterday they told me it was just a loose fuse... the car was fine and to come pick it up. Then I get another call and they said it wouldn't start... the saga continues!

Sorry you're having problems Matilda
But it happened for them and that's awesome! Hope they can figure it out quickly for you...
Mine died for a few seconds and then came back while I was driving. Very scary. The dealer performed the recall and it hasn't happened again.

Is there a lemon law in your state?

If so I would ask the dealer to replace the vehicle at this point.

Good Luck....I sprung for the R/T after reading on this forum and have had a lot of luck with this truck.

I hope that you get what you rightfully deserve...

Hi,

I did check about the recalls - there are none! Today the dealer gave me a caravan to use until they can fix mine. Today they said it was the Wireless Control Module - last time it was Control Module.

Today I called the salesman that I bought it from - he told me there was a number in the back of my manual to call them and talk about returning it. I did that and they told me there is a form (that came with the manual) I have to fill out first. So I filled that out and mailed it off. I think I'm going to call the Manager of the dealership that I bought it and talk to him/her. That's what it said when I looked up lemon laws.

I do hope you get it resolved quickly. If they decide to exchange it will you go for a new 08 model or something different?

stalling

Had similar problem. car would start for a few seconds and then conk out brought to dealer said it was a bad chip in key so far no more stalling

Scary!!! I think my brake module is currently the only recall on my Nitro... I hate hearing about this kind of stuff. Nothing new in the car world, just a bummer when stuff like that happens.

yea my friends freaked out, she had no lights , no electrical stuff at all except the back windsheild wipe (which wouldnt shut off) and they replaced some main computer in it which they had to custom order. which if that were me, would make me nervous
