Thank you scar0. I think the Nitro or Liberty need to have the advanced evic instrument cluster installed to make it work with the harness I have.
When using the 2011 original harness it’s setup like this
1. empty
2. horn black
3. green horn
4. Or/Vt S/C Signal 2
5. Vt/Br S/C Return
6. Vt/Or S/C Signal 1
The 2008 Liberty harness that I have is setup like this
1. Bk Ground
2. Wt/Dg Lin Bus
3. Rd Fused B(+)
4. Or/Vt S/C Signal 2
5. Vt/Br S/C Return
6. Vt/Or S/C Signal 1
The 2008 harness routes all wires through the right hand evic switch and then out from there to the CLOCKSPRING C8 - WHITE (STEERING WHEEL) 6 WAY terminal
1. Bk Ground
2. Wt/Dg Lin Bus
The cruise control stalk has only 3 wire that come out of it and go directly to the CLOCKSPRING C8 - WHITE (STEERING WHEEL) 6 WAY terminal
4. Or/Vt S/C Signal 2
5. Vt/Br S/C Return
6. Vt/Or S/C Signal 1
Both my original 2011 and 2008 harness and everywhere I have read have these terminals in common. Straight though the clockspring right into the cruise control stalk.
4. Or/Vt S/C Signal 2
5. Vt/Br S/C Return
6. Vt/Or S/C Signal 1
So I’m wondering if I splice the 2008 harness to bypass the evic buttons and only use the 2 wire from each rear radio switches plus the horn to therminals 1, 2, 3 like this
1. Gy/Wt Radio Control Mux~~~~~~Connect Gy/Wt wire the left and right rear radio switches
2. Vt/Yl Signal Return~~~~~~Connect Gy/Br horn wire and Gy/Br left and right rear radio switches
3. Dg/Vt Horn Switch Sense
4. Or/Vt S/C Signal 2
5. Vt/Br S/C Return
6. Vt/Or S/C Signal 1
Does this make sense?
Below is a diagram for the radio switches and photos of the full 2008 harness. Plus my original 2011 harness.
