I have a 2010 nitro 4x4 I changed Trans filter n oil I put in 5 qts. Problem I'd it will take off good but wnt shift into 2nd gear it will red line and then it wnt go at all like it's a dead stick

when changing the tranny fluid the best thing to do is measure the amout of fluid you drained out, then put the exact same amount back in,
did the tranny work fine before the fluid change ?

You need to check the fluid with a dipstick and a temperature chart. You can probably use an OBD reader from an autoparts store for free to read the transmission temp.
Google images have the chart, or it's usually included with the dipstick. It can also be found in the online manuals.
