My Nitro was manufactured April 11,2007, with 3.7 motor, automatic, 2 wheel drive. tow package. My Nitro has a miss (like water in gas) in the motor while driving at a constant speed from between 20MPH to 85MPH. You can feel it all the time. My dealer says its the transmission, It feels like an Electrical or fuel injection miss. My dealer says it will go away at 2000miles. and it is the transmission. They have reset the transmission computer 3 times with no change, can anyone help or offer advise?

Without being able to drive your Nitro myself to experience the problem you describe I cannot dispute whether it is the transmission at fault or not. Having said that, I'm not aware of any reason why the transmission would change operation after 2000 miles. Never heard of that.

If the engine is in fact misfiring then the computer will set a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) for it. Resetting the transmission adaptive memory isn't obviously gonna fix the problem. What can be reset on the transmission are the base shift points which, until they are relearned will cause firmer (read harsher) shifting. Also variable line pressure can be reset and torque converter break-in can be enabled. These last resettable options are usually used when a torque converter is replaced. Hope this helps. Maybe you need to see another dealer.
