Hi,
Just wanted to pass on a quick hello as I am new to the forum. I have owned my Nitro for about a year now. We currently live in Atlanta, Georgia but will be moving to Stockholm Sweden in September and will be shipping the Nitro with us. I have a quick question. We will be needing winter tires and I wanted to buy new wheels to accommodate this rather than to have to change our tires out every winter. Where would be the best place to purchase normal wheels for my Nitro? I am not looking for anything fancy, just some simple 16" wheels as we will be driving in less than ideal conditions.

Thanks!

Hello and welcome redturtles, :wavey: to the best forum on the net.
I purchase all my tires/rims at Les Schwab tires, but they are a North West Tire company. For my winter tires I use steel rims, as they can handle the abuse I put them threw without any issues. The only thing is, they do rust after a couple of years. It's not to bad, as they do not salt the roads here.
Enjoy the forum.

Welcome redturtles. Looks like you are getting alot of help with your query. The only thing I could possibly add is to get your best price you can from whichever source you choose, be it tirerack or whomever, and then take that to a local shop and see if they will match the price. That way you won't be paying extra charges maybe for shipping.

Thanks everyone for the great advice. I will check out Tire Rack and do a price check on some area stores.

Currently we are living in Vinings, GA, but will only be there until the end of August at which time we will be moving to Enkoping, Sweden.

I am looking forward to getting more involved in the forum as we love the Nitro and want keep it and build on it. Also, We want to be able to represent from the frozen tundra of Sweden!

I have another question, we found out that in Sweden we are required to have yellow turn signals for the rear taillights, anyone know where I can find clear or yellow turn signal plates for the rear?

Why not check out your local scrap yard for winter rims? :thk:
They could surely up a set together?:i_rolleyes:
That's where I"ll be shopping for the rims this winter!

Anyway, hope you find something and have a blast in the snow in Sweden!:beerchug:

Maybe you can meet up with some of our other Swedish members there, :smiley_aagv: and have a "FROZEN-PALOOZA"? :Na_Na_Na_Na:
I think they must have at least one week ...... of summer there? :chuckle:  :D

The Euro Nitro has different tail lights to accommodate this. You could
probably pick up a set at a dealer there and swap them. You could then
sell your original set to help recoup some cost. The Euro Nitro also has
the the side signals on the front fender behind the wheel, not sure if you'll
be required to have those too.

Here's a pic of the Euro Nitro, you can also see the side signals on
the front fender.

You might also be able to pick the tails up here as it looks like the US
Liberty has a tail light similar to the Euro tail. I'd think it would be an
easy swap you'd have to check that they function like the Euro lamps.

Maybe when you get there you can start selling the front Euro bumpers to us statesiders
on the forums. (or least be able to get yourself one) :D

Big Move.
I was searching through the site for a conversation I saw some time ago.
Thir was from a member in Sweden re Snow tires.
There are some strickt rules as to what you can use inthe Winter there and what they classify as snow tires.
The Brand he reffered to are made in Finland.
They are NOKIAN.
I use them here on one of my cars and swear by them.
When these stock tires on the Nitro start to wear I will put Nokians on the Nitro.
