Hi, nooB here. I found this forum while looking for information about why my Nitro with 14K miles died at the curb. Parked it in town, but when I came back and tried to start it, it wouldn't turn over. Icons lit up, but no starter. It was towed 40 miles to the nearest dealer, so I'm killing time waiting to hear from them. I hope this car doesn't turn into a lemon like my 05 Cherokee :loser1:. did (bad transmission).

I'll post something in the mechanical issues area when I find out what caused the problem.

As promised, here's how the problem was "fixed": The wireless control module, which processes the signal from the key to remotely open door locks and activate the engine start when turned in the ignition switch, somehow was "turned off". Or, it became nonresponsive. The service manager told me that if it happens again to disconnect the battery and wait a few minutes. When the battery is reconnected, the power to the module switches it back on. I'm hoping this was a isolated event that won't happen again, but I'm going to be keeping some extra tools in the car in case it does. So, if you have the same experience, try disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it after a few minutes see if it solves the problem. I suspect the same procedure would apply to other computer modules in the car.

So this fix from the service department is to carry extra tools with you? I'd check another service department for a better fix.
