Hey all, just wanted to say hi and "check in." Altho I'm not a Nitro owner, I am 95% sure i want to get one. Just need to get the funds in order and test drive some. I definitely want a 6spd Manual transmission, Black, 17" wheels and body colored fenders. (mainly cuz i love manual transmissions and seems to have fewer problems than the Auto Nitros.) But the thing that bothers me is there are so few options in that one. Does anyone know (or done this with their NITROS) if i can get the body colored grill, like in the R/T, and the upgraded sound system as an option or get the dealer to throw that in? I've "built my own" Nitro online at dodge.com but they don't offer the grill and the better sound package in the SXT. Plus, i hate the all black dashboard. I want some brushed metal in there like in the SLT. Anybody know of aftermarket dashboard modifications for a manual transmission 08 Nitro?

Sorry if i'm repeating some previous posts, but i did a quick search and didn't see too many previous threads about the body colored grill and some dashboard modifications.

This forum is pretty rad. I'm not gonna lie. Everyone here is incredibly helpful and all about Nitros. That rocks. hopefully ill get one soon (as in a month).

not sure about the questions you are asking....but I hope you find one that you like and can live with....check out the photo gallerey....BlueJet did a dash mat....maybe that could be something to help you deal w/ the dash color, I am in an slt and upgraded the sound....good luck what ever you chose and keep us updated!!!

Nice to see you here mealdeal.....

You made a wise choice with the 6 speed auto, far less things to go wrong.

You should be able to get the SXT with an appearance package which includes body colored fenders and bumpers. The body colored grille wont be matching as that is on the R/T only. It will be the chrome but you could buy one from Dodge and install it afterwards though.

You can buy the SLT dash and install that also. A few members here have done that already. See this thread...http://www.nitroforumz.com/showthread.php?t=5335

I would speak to the dealership about a sound system upgrade. I'm sure they can do it for you. It might not be from the factory but they can always do an install later.

As far as a dash kit, if you look on Ebay they have some aftermarket ones that you can buy on Ebay. Do a search there and you'll find them. I'm eyeing up a black carbon fiber one as we speak.

that helps. Makes me feel better knowing that there's a chance to get those options. I'm really looking forward to taking the 6spd for a drive. Black with no chrome and tinted dark windows is pretty bada*s in my opinion... can't wait!
