:( I recently bought a new 08 Nitro SLT.
less than 2000 miles and it has been in the shop 3 times for a total of 10 days, and needs to go back again.

so far, new rear axle, new rear differential, new gears.
refitted plastic trim on passenger side, replaced damaged wheel ( dealer added 22" wheels but one had curb rash)

today, both front head lights burned out at the same time, not a fuse cause we got new lights from the autoparts place and they work fine.

there is some rattle in the dash, sometimes when you start it it freaks out like it is possesed.

the dealer said they don't have to deal with lemon law because that goes against Dodge not the dealer.

anything yall can suggest. I am about to tell the dealership to buy it back from us.

We got it on November 3rd

That's BS. They are envolved with the lemon law process. I know it does differ a little state to state but they'll be in the mix as well. You should call Dodge directly and also call your local state's attorney general. I did all of that with a bad VW I had. I also contacted a lawyer too which helped out a lot.

the rear axle start humming while going down the highway, anything over 55 and it was noticable, anything over 65 and it was louder than the sterio.

turned out the ring and pinion were not set up right from the factory.

I will be calling a lawyer soon, and who at Dodge should I try to contact?

it has been at the dealership's shop for all these repairs.

I have talked to the sales manager ( who by the way was acting like my best friend the day of the sale, but as soon as we came back with a problem, acted like he wanted nothing to do with me)

they repaired the axle/diff. the headlights went out sat night so we will be calling the dealer monday morning.

They tried to give my wife a hard time saying since we didn't get the extended warrenty that they are doing us a favor by repairing this stuff.....

I think with barely a month and 2k miles the extended warrenty shouldn't be an issue.

just over rude, service. And it doesn't help that the service dept is only open 7-7 mon-fri not on weekends.

Unfortunatly, I can not go in to talk to the people myself because I am working offshore and wont be back on dry land for another week, so I am having to leave this stuff to my wife for the inperson talks, and while she is one tough cookie, they are trying to walk over her.

when the headlights went out not even 24 hrs after the truck came out of the shop for a week I was kinda upset.......

I just don't know about this thing, I read alot of your post and there seems to be a lot of happy nitro owners...just thinking I got a lemon and picked a crappy dealership ( only 2 dodge dealers in my area and one was closed when we went shopping for the new ride)

I apologize, I didn't read your first post on this, just your last one. Sorry to hear about your Nitro issues. Maybe you need to call Chrysler and demand a replacement vehicle. Another member has done this already and did get a new vehicle.

Hey Captain J, I too am really sorry to hear about your woes, I know that doesn't do you much good but I'm on your side anyway. This hardest part of being a MRM on this forum is trying to help members like yourself who have had many issues with their Nitros.

Unfortunately there will always be some dealerships who are only interested in sales and not the after sales support. I really hope you're wife gets thing fixed before you get back to shore, if not go back to them with all guns blazing. Sometimes that's all it takes for them to get serious. You shouldn't have to do this but sometimes you have no choice.

I will see what they have to say about the head lights, if they pull the "head lights are not covered and sorry about your luck, I will be on the phone with a Chrysler/Dodge rep before I leave the parking lot.

on the otherhand, if they take care of it... not just replacing the lights, but check out the electrical system for a short or surge or other problems, are nice, then we will see. I might just talk to them in a casual tone about swapping to another vehicle.

by the way, this is what she looks like

Post a write up on the dealers section so others know what they are getting into with this place. If they are telling you this stuff isn't covered, they don't deserve any more business. Too many great dealers out there going the extra mile to let this one spoil the bunch.

ok, will do.
so far they have covered everything, after they got a but chewing from my wife...

today the alarm remote stopped working.
yesterday the hedlights blew out at the same time....

from what I have read about lemon law in TX is it has to be the same problem 3 times, but what about 5 different problems.....

Wow! I just read this whole post. Sorry to here about your woes with the dealer. That is just not right. I suggest you make a complaint to Dodge, and start using a more reputable dealer. There is no way you should have been treated like that. A real dealer "kissed the customers azz", not the other way around. Good luck.
On a better note, the pics you attached are cool! I really like those rims and the color of your truck..congrats:)

Go here and tell Chrysler what's going on with your Nitro. Bottom right there's a 'Need help' section,. From there you can select Customer assistance and it links you to an email and phone # at head office in Auburn Hills. Took me about 2 mins to find it...
