HI all,
I had a oil change about 2 weeks ago and didnt notice any thing wrong till this morning. I have a oil puddle under my rig that was not there yesterday- I park in the same spot at work everyday. My husband who works here also took a quick look and says maybe the idiots who changed the oil didnt put the oil filter on tight enough and he will try and check it out tonight when we get home. Do you all think this is possible- I sure wish this bad juju would leave me & my nitro I love it but seems like its always something new happening and it aint good.

Anyone else have this problem incase its not the filter???

Sorry to hear about your problems Magarita. I guess its safe to say no one has had this problem. My advice to you is to check your oil level, Check the security of your drain plug. I'm sure you seen the trail of oil left on the road from a vehicle. Thats the trail left behind from a loose drain plug that worked its way loose and completely fell off. If the drain plug is still secure then more than likely it is you filter being loose or improperly threaded. If your oil level is acceptable, I would return to your service dept and have it corrected.

I had a problem with an oil leak and I took it down to the dealership. They said they couldn't find the problem so took it home and lifted the front end. I used degreaser to clean the compartment then took it for a drive down the road. Low and behold it was coming from the oil filter. I hand tightened it and guess what? It stopped leaking.

There is also a chance that the drippings were just from the oil change itself and the tech didn't clean up very well.

I've had a few vehicles that would drip dirty residual oil left over from the filter change for a few days no matter how well it was cleaned.

:shakehead:well I went down to garage on wednesday they claim it was just residual oil that hadnt been cleaned up. so I didnt think nothing of it and went home. Here i am 2 days later ( yesterday it rained out couldnt see anything on ground) but today as soon as i got out of my rig is was leaking again. Called the garage at break, told them its still leaking and my stick says to add on it. But according to them its still residual oil but bring it down anyways and we will look at it.
Today is 3 weeks since they did the oil change - how long is it suppose to drip? and why do i need to add oil if its only residual oil. Am i missing something here:shakehead::shakehead:

Take it to a new garage, and after they fix the issue, take the bill to the original garage.

ok So i was right its WAS NOT resisdual oil from the oil change- There is no way it would still be dripping 3 weeks later so the original mechanic who did the change put it up on the lift and checked it out- it was a bad filter- I knew i wasnt nuts about this the sevice manager couldnt even apologize only told me when handing my keys " 3 times is a charm" What a smart ass.........
But i dont care its fixed now after going back and forth 3 times.
thanks to all that replied.......................
