Im sure that most of these points have been addressed before but i wanted to see if anyone had come accross all the same issues with one vehicle

I purchased new 09.07 a SXT and since then there have been numerous issues with the car

Aircon replacement
Torque Converter replacement
Windows not working properly
Radio displaying "mech comm error"

Early in the life of the vehicle it displayed a shudder we holding a constant speed on the open road which got progressivly worse, from low speed to cruising speed - it almost felt like it was missing or failing to get enough petrol

On several occasions the window on auto up and down only go 80% of the way before stopping and then retreating completly to where they started from

The radio now when you get into the car procedds to make sounds like its loading 40 CD's before coming up with and error on the display saying "mech comm error"

Whilst i have read that some of you are seeing similar issues i have yet to see anyone who is showing all the issues above with the same vehicle

The vehicle has been in for service on 7 seperate occasions and to be hinest whilst some issues have been fixed i find myself anticipating what will go wrong next

Anyone car to comment on the above ?

Many thanks

I must say, you have had a bad run thus far. You must have the petrol 3.7l engine, with the 4 spped auto.

If you have read through posts on this site, you will see that the transmission features regularly. Looks like no permanent fix on that yet.Especially if torqye convertor replacement is done without software upgrade at same time.

As for windows,do they cut-out during going up or are they just intermittent.? I have heard that software upgrades to other systems, can effect the window controller some-how.

The radio, inform your dealer,by phone, make appointment with service dept, and get them to replace it....you've had enough faults with other systems. I have heard that even the radio functions are enabled by the car's computer.

I can't help feeling that your car has a virus or something, maybe, seems strange I know, but these vehicles are computer controlled.Ther are software problems, which may cause other faults.

Ring your dealer principal, let him know you've just about had it, providing product testing for him....... and what is he going to do for you?

cheers Robert.

Wow, good to hear that your dealer is pro-active,thou I'm sure they know that their customers use these forums.

Try the CRD model. It may suit you.they are a bit noiser, which I think suits the image of the nitro. Full throttle launches from the lights are FUN,just floor it and hold it there.

Servicing costs on CRD model are higher.Could be offset by lower fuel cost. Also road user charges of 3.2c/km

I ordered a petrol SXT, and the dealer lent me the CRD. I liked the midrange torque, and the 5 speed auto, so I kept it. A SXT CRD.

I hear that the MY 2008 SXT being shipped to Australia doesn't get the subwoofer, and different rear door speakers, unless you order MYGIG as well. Not sure of local cost for my gig, ask your dealer, for spec changes if you opt for a 2008 model

hope you get a Nitro that you enjoy!;)
